Volto!'s debut album Incitare is now streaming via the Rolling Stone website. It goes on sale via Amazon and iTunes very soon, and presumably physical media will be on sale early in August.

Let us know what you think in the comments below!

I already heard it a couple of times and I am digging it. It is damnit fun.

In the non-APC side projects bracket I'd already put it at the top, right below COMP and C is for....

I even bought Tocino on itunes cause I wanted that shit on my ipod already.

I listened to the first half this morning and thought it was ok.  I suspect that this would be a band I'd much rather see live than listen to on record on any regular basis.

The album is just a 'meh', at least after the first listening. 4/10

I'll pirate it, listen to it once while drunk, then delete it; as per my previous comment on this issue aeons ago.

I do not know how its possible to not like a Z and Carey team. There is a lot going on here, and I've enjoyed the first few listens. Ziegler is fucking talented. Its nice to hear Danny in a different setting. Too bad I left Cali

If you listen all the way through and still don't like it, I get that.

If you listen to the first couple of minutes, skim through to validate your disdain for this genre of music, that's weak.

Appreciation of music is very subjective, but mastery of an instrument is objective.  These fuckers can play.  And I like what they do with that ability as well.  Definite purchase.

I'm not gonna listen to the whole thing. I heard 2 songs, and I'm gonna leave it at that until the live show Aug. 4! I think it will be better that way   Maybe I will see some of you there...

ya, i am checking this out for the first time now. As usual Danny stands out as usual but over all as songs they get a tad lacking. they are def a jam band. not knocking jamming but it does feel like jams and not songs sometimes. they go off in diff directions and feel a bit lost once in awhile. at first i thought 'whopner' was pretty cool but then it gets sorta boring.

LIVE i would like it more too. anything live is better though. so ya, i do like it but its a little on and off. still good music though but not super great or something

I'ma let you finish... but I've listened to the whole beautiful mess more than a dozen times and it just keeps getting better.  Volto! is not a jam band.  It's much closer to progressive rock with a lot of other elements and genres mixed in... a Fusion of genres rooted in Progressive Rock.

The reason I differentiate this from a "Jam Band" is due to the accepted connotation for the term:

jam band

Web definitions

Jam bands are musical groups whose albums and live performances relate to a fan culture that originated with the 1960s group Grateful...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jam_band

I know there are Phish and GD fans here and I'm not trying to piss you off, but there is a ton of aimless noodling associated with that genre that I don't find at all with Volto!  It's very focused and musically complex.  Apparently live they go off on tangents and improvise the fuck out of their tunes, but again, with their level of musicianship the end result is far from noodling.

And above all, it's so killer to hear Danny going off and enjoying himself in a way he can't with Tool.  Not that he doesn't go off and enjoy what he does with Tool... it's just so musically different.

Really bummed I've yet to see them live and will miss out again this round.

Spotflux might help you. You'll need to Google it, as I'm not sure what the rules are here regarded services such as those . . .

I use it to access stuff available outside of my own current country.

Good luck.

I doubt it's accessing the music that is the problem.  I imagine he wants to actually pay for it.

I dunno, I have no idea what spotflux is, but presumed it was some method of downloading the music.
