Big Business

Post by joeypants »

Cant believe there's not a thread already. New album is the shit! No Vowels and Lonely Lyle are two new high points for them. Jared continues to be one of the best vocalists/lyricists working today.

Agree with you on "Lonely Lyle".

I'm still chasing the dragon with "HERE COME THE WATERWORKS". I know I shouldn't be, but I am.

This album is good . . . it's just not what I want. They hit such a fucking high point with " . . . WATERWORKS" that I just will never be happy with anything else.

Which is all my fault, sure. But remember, I wouldn't feel this way if it wasn't such a fucking amazing album.
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.

They haven't really been the same band since they added a guitar player. I still like their work (and the new album is pretty good) but I think they've moved on from that sound.

Waterworks is still my favorite overall. But I also think they've hit new high points in other ways with individual songs. City Ham comes to mind of the recent EP, and the aforementioned No Vowels and Lonely Lyle.

And still plugging along, Kittaan thanks for asking. Nothing much new to report still writing.

My biggest gripe with the new Big Biz album is some of the songs seem like they could've actually been longer. Our Mutant in particular feels like its about to take off somewhere else when it ends. Also I really enjoy Scott's guitar work. They've actually been sneaking guitar into the tracks since the first album I believe, more and more as the went along.

New track sounds excellent. I think these guys are better as a two-piece (which is apparently what they are once more).

Would be cool to see them tour Oz one day!

It's really fucking outstanding. The continued use of the Blossom Bells throughout really ties the whole thing together. I feel like this might end up being my favorite album of theirs in terms of cohesiveness.

It's certainly one of their best - I think they seem to write better as a two piece. That said, there were a few dull moments through the album. Keen to give it another listen though as the good tracks are really good!
