DÄLEK RETURN TO IPECAC RECORDINGS; RELEASE ENDANGERED PHILOSOPHIES ON SEPT. 1
May 31, 2017, Union City, N.J. – Dälek, who have been “Mixing the searing political rhetoric of Public Enemy, the suffocating shoegaze textures of My Bloody Valentine and the primal appeal of squealing industrial noise” for over 18 years (Rolling Stone), return to Ipecac Recordings withEndangered Philosophies, the trio’s fifth Ipecac release and seventh album overall.
“Along with the Melvins and ISIS (the band), Dälek helped form the foundation of our label,” said Ipecac Recordings co-founder Greg Werckman. “We could not be happier to be working with them again. They remain unique and uncompromising and continue to defy genre limitations.”
Tour dates (more to be announced soon):
May 31 Montreal, QC Bar Le Ritz (w/Daughters)
June 1 Toronto, ON Hard Luck (w/Daughters)
June 2 Detroit, MI El Club (w/Daughters)
June 3 Cleveland, OH Agora Ballroom (w/Daughters)
June 4 Washington, DC DC9 (w/Daughters)
October 28 Baltimore, MD Rams Head (Days of Darkness Festival)
“Before Def Jux, before Death Grips, before Yeezus, there was Dälek” (Noisey). Pioneers of alt hip-hop, Dälek features rapper/producer MC Dälek, producer/live electronics Mike Manteca and turntablist DJ rEk. With roots in the mid-‘90s DIY scene, Dälek has consistently released groundbreaking albums, starting with their 1998 debut EP, Negro Necro Nekros, which NME said saw the outfit “deconstruct hip hop” to 2016’s Asphalt for Eden, hailed by Pitchfork for its subtlety and restraint, saying “on Asphalt for Eden, hip hop ascends into the noosphere.”

Re: Random Music News
^Excellent news! I really liked 'Abyss' and seeing her live was a great experience, especially because of Dylan Fujioka's drumming. Such a heavy sound coming from that guy. Not sure he has anything to do with this new record, but hopefully he's part of any supporting tour.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.

Re: Random Music News
Sounds interesting:
https://app.robly.com/archive?id=13fea2 ... eec&v=trueAug. 14, 2017, Denver – Primitive Race, the hard rock/industrial hybrid helmed by Chris Kniker with core members Mark Gemini Thwaite (The Mission UK/Peter Murphy) and Erie Loch (Wiccid/Luxt), release their sophomore album, Soul Pretender, on Nov. 3 via Metropolis Records.
As was the case with the band’s debut, Kniker brought an impressive group of guest musicians into the Primitive Race fold, with the full album featuring vocals by former Faith No More singer Chuck Mosley and drums by the Melvins’ Dale Crover. The album was produced by the band’s core trio, with Kniker recruiting Maor Appelbaum (Faith No More/Sepultura) for mastering, Toshi Kasai (Melvins/Helmet) for engineering and Joe Haze (tweaker/PIG) for mixing.
“Musically, Soul Pretender was a natural progression from the first album,” explains Kniker. “To have Chuck and Dale involved was perfect! They really brought a new vision to the project. Their style is a perfect match with Mark, Erie and myself. This record is more focused and organic. I wanted more of an alternative rock record. Stripped down. Live real drums. There’s space in the record. I didn’t want some overly polished ‘perfect’ record.”
Re: Random Music News
Ministry tour cancelled! I seem to remember them doing a headline tour before in the Filth Pig era, but perhaps I'm mistaken. Was thinking of going to this, but happy to have saved my money for other things...

Re: Random Music News
First details with a pre-order of the next Godflesh album “Post Self” appeared on Norman Records. Release date in November. Stay tight for a press release and ordering directly from the artists’ label.
Over 2 years in the making, ‘Post Self’ explores the less 'metal’ side of Godflesh; taking in the formative influences, and spitting out something more informed by late 70’s early 80’s post punk and industrial than it is anything metal related.
Thematically personal and obsessive, exploring anxiety, depression, fear, mortality, and family relationships (Mother / Father).
AREC040VC - Limited edition white vinyl version. 1000 copies worldwide.
Song list:
Post Self
Parasite
No Body
Mirror Of Finite Light
Be God
The Cyclic End
Pre Self
Mortality Sorrow
In Your Shadow
The Infinite End
'It is time for us to be doing what we have been doing every day. And that time is now'
