Seems like Faith No More could be writing a new album:
“The last record was a real struggle to make. It felt really good and it was a really great exercise in taking us and our inner family creative process to the next level. It was a place that we kind of needed to go to make ‘Sol Invictus’. We had spent a lot of time sort of coming back together and getting to know each other again and making music again and playing old songs, and then it kind of reached a point where it felt kind of dirty to just do what we were doing, just these shows of old songs. So we took it to the next level and that felt really good. I think we all walked away from that, even though it was like a really hard process to get through that record, I think we walked away from it with really positive and optimistic sort of perspectives.

“I will periodically go to San Francisco and make music with those guys. What we do is a really special, unique thing that we kind of share, especially like me and Mike Bordin and Billy… we were super young, we were like 18, 19 years old, when we started making music, so we kind of get in the room and we have a language that speaks really loud and really clear, at least to the three of us. I mean, where it goes is questionable, but we have sort of a language that’s kind of undeniable in a really sort of family sense. And I think we all acknowledge that it’s not something that any of us wanna turn our backs on, and it’s kind of fun to do. So in the hopes of pushing things forward and making new music, we continue to do that, to get together and make new sounds and just have a dialogue about prospects and songs and where we go in the future.”
Though tbh it sounds a little more like the SOAD situation, where the other guys seem to be keen to get started, but no real commitment from the singer yet. We'll see I suppose - it doesn't appear Patton has much on his plate right at the moment (though I'm not sure what ever happened to that Tomahawk album that was rumoured)

Apparently he's signing at the Chris Cornell tribute coming soon (assuming he's not sick for that as well)

And he's pulled out of that one too now:
Unfortunately Im not going to be able to make the Chris Cornell tribute concert Wednesday night. Best wishes to my friends Ben, Kim and Matt and to Chris's family. It is going to be quite an evening. I also want to thank the Los Angeles Rams for the invitation to sing the national anthem last weekend. A bad week to not be feeling good.

Good to hear something from Mike - it feels like it's been unusually quiet from him of late.

This was posted on the Mr Bungle Facebook page earlier today. Not quite sure what it is, but I assume a demo from California, given that it just celebrated 20 years:

30th Anniversary of The Real Thing this week. While it's not my favorite Faith No More album, it is probably the first album to tear me away from my interest in more rock/hair metal acts such as GnR, Def Leppard, etc and into more alternative and extreme genres.

This interview with a few of the band members was an interesting read. I'd love to set up a similar Q&A with Tool members one day:

You'd think given the time and effort that's gone into the site over the years they'd drop their shtick and allow that for ya. I remember you mentioned you were hoping it could be on the cards, what's the go. You asked the question and got a maybe type response?

Fair enough. There's a good podcast that I listen to called podcast croissant for any fnm fans on here. Local Sydney fella started it.

Am surprised there isn't much of a Tool podcast going around at the moment. Could be a gap in the market right there. We could pool everyone's talents and have different variety spots.

I've actually considered a podcast, but in fairness I have a voice that's not really suitable for radio, plus I'm not much of a speaker.

A synth voice would create a certain mystique.
"She's a very charming and delightful creature, and has only one fault that I know of. It happens, unfortunately, that that single blemish is a want of taste. She don't like me."

You might surprise yourself mate. No one knows what they actually sound like, so you could potentially have a voice made for radio. I know Liz says ya got a face for it anyway

Should look into it, all other mainstream bands have one , you've got the connections and know how plus there is a total gap in the podcast for it

I'm interested in how Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo fit into this? I don't imagine Trey is sitting this out, so Scott Ian doing second guitars? Dave Lombardo doing percussion perhaps?

Sounds pretty cool - not sure if they're implying here that the demo has been recorded with the new lineup?
