Eh. Nothing particularly original, but watchable nonetheless.

Yeah, it was alright. A few interesting moments, but overall a bit flat.Calfium Jay wrote:Eh. Nothing particularly original, but watchable nonetheless.

I too enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok. Just an all around fun time. Great popcorn flick.hellboy wrote:Watched Thor: Ragnarok this evening. Certainly one of the strangest Marvel movies I've seen, and also thoroughly entertaining. After Thor 2 was painfully bland, it's nice to see the franchise back up there again.
9/10
As for Mute, I don't think it's the disaster critics made it out to be but it's by no means a good movie. Aimless, contrived, and disjointed are a few adjectives that came to mind while watching it.
Curious about Annihilation, but I think I'm going to take a movie break.

I saw the original version. The reboot has a bigger budget, and the acting is better, but it’s too predictable.tys0n wrote:Really enjoying Waco

Mute was fine, critics are idiots with an agenda

Watching Atypical. Based around a family with the main character a highly functioning autistic kid. Gets extra bonus points for casting Michael Rappaport who I haven't seen in anything for about 20 years

The Killing of a Sacred Deer was fucking amazing, reminded me a lot of martyrs and funny games, unconventional horror movies.

Just got around to watching Get Out. Excellent film and Peele was well deserving of his Oscar.

Went out to see Black Panther tonight. Was tracking pretty well until the absurd over the top CGI fest that was the final act. Overall a fun and relatively mindless flick. 8/10

Do you ever go and see films that were purposefully made for adults?

It's not normally something I seek out. I usually watch movies for entertainment value, rather than the be pushed intellectually.Calfium Jay wrote:hellboy wrote:Went out to see Black Panther tonight. Was Blade Runner 2049 an adult movie?

It's funny that CJ even brings this up considering that like 9 times out of 10 he'll post about one of these movies before HB.

Much more better than Arrival, imo.

- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

Is there a connection between that movie and Arrival, or was that just a completely random comparison?
For what it's worth, Arrival was better than Black Panther.

They're both Sci-Fi movies with female protagonists that start with A. Curious how it compares to Aliens.

After watching that my first thought was it wasn't as good as Arrival.

War for the Planet of the Apes - 9/10, this franchise gets no fucking love while being better than most of the capeshit and star bores films that come out

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
The movie got almost universal acclaim, so not sure it got "no fucking love"
Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
I mean in terms of discussion as an actual franchise

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
So you'd rather the movies be marketed more towards children/teens?
