Cheers for all the updates. Some interesting stuff coming.
Surprised this hadn't been mentioned. (The Only Xbox Exclusive that has any credibility!)

I suspect most people are over the whole zombie thing. I know I am - the whole theme is pretty played out. Yet another zombie game has no real interest to me.

Re: Video game news
Actually yes you are right thats exactly why it hasn't been mentioned! Although the first one was superior. Thankfully I avoided most zombie games.
Anyway, nice catch on that game Satisfactory...looks interesting.

Don't think I've played any zombie games, zero interest.

I'm keeping my eye on Dying Light 2. Chris Avellone has a very good resume, and the branching narrative stuff is intriguing if they go all out with it. There's potential there, I think.

Re: Video game news
Didn't know Chris was involved. That certainly raises my interest level in the game.

Re: Video game news
I wonder what percentage of video games contain violence? Seems like that's all I'm seeing here.

I'd say about 2/3rds of games feature violence in some form. What of it though? Personally I routinely play both violent and non-violent games.

Re: Video game news
Guys,
Can you advise on what to get....
PS4 Pro 1TB
PS4 Pro 500GB
PS4 Slim 500GB
Presumbly next gen is way off...
With the upcoming games for the PS I'm steering away from Xbox so i don't really know whats what and whether the upgrade to the Pro is worth doing.
I'm a on and off gamer.
Cheers

Re: Video game news
If you're a casual gamer just get the cheapest PS4 option.

If you have a 4K TV get a PS4 Pro or an Xbox One X, otherwise get the cheaper version.

Re: Video game news
RDR2 seems to be getting some very positive reviews...seen 'masterpiece' and 10/10 among some of them. Apparently they even placed a review embargo until today (Thu 25th)

Re: Video game news
Wait a minute there ziggy, God of War is a top 10 all time level game so let's wait and see. That said it looks like RDR2 actually lives up to the hype. Looking forward to playing it.
Not sure yet about Fallout 76. I applaud Bethesda for trying something new and I suspect the game will end up being good after a few months. I think there are a lot of really good elements there but the game feels a bit too slow and empty for a shared world online experience. This game reminds me a bit of Destiny where it seems to struggle with a bit of an identity crisis and it might take awhile before Bethesda figures out exactly what they want this game to be and what the fans will ultimately want out of the experience. I hate all the toxicity around the game though. I understand people not thinking it is for them since it is not a Solo Fallout game, but the level of pure vitriol is borderline ridiculous for a game that isn't even out yet. The BETA wasn't bad. The game needs some work but it is by no means a poorly designed game.
I do think Bethesda would have benefited from holding off another month or two and doing some earlier larger Beta testing to iron out the bugs and get more feedback from fans as to what they would like to see in the game. Releasing so close to RDR2 is going to hurt this game, particularly with it already being so polarizing in the Fallout community being an always online game. Plus it really needs some optimization work. What I played of the BETA was fine on the One X, but I know there are issues with framerate dips and general performance issues. I can't imagine the game in it's current state playing well on an OG Xbox or even an OG PS4.

Re: Video game news
Fallout historically has had a very toxic fanbase, so wasn't a surprise to me to see 76 so poor received by some of these fans. I suspect many of the complainers are likely to even try the game, nor are the target market so doubt that Bethesda is too bothered by it.
I might give Fallout 76 a go one day, when it inevitable becomes free to play, or cheap via some Steam sale. My only real request is that they consider allowing private servers - I have little interest in playing with randoms.
As for RDR2 - no Xbone or PS4 for me, so no go. Still holding out some hope there will be a PC version. Reviews I've read are interesting so far, no doubt the world is magnificent. Sounds like the story is a bit passe though, but that would be high subjective I guess. I'll find out one day.
In the meantime I'm enjoying Assassins Creed Odyssey, which is good, mostly mindless fun in a setting I have a strong interest in (Ancient Greece).

Re: Video game news
Got it delivered to work, 5 hours or so of work to go, should have taken the day off.
Fallout 76 - Not the sort of game I'd play, will play the next single player game when ever that is.

AC Odyssey has been a pleasant surprise. Definitely the best AC game in a long time.
