New TRICKY is out, as of today or yesterday, or something.

I don't know, I'm useless.

Single is fucking wicked.

Just listened on Amazon. REALLY good stuff. Will have to invest in a copy - it's been 18 years since I last bought a Tricky album.

Speaking of Tricky, where's this new Massive Attack album?? There's been no update's in two years or something...!!!

New Tricky is good so far. Better than the last album that's for sure. Nice use of an Alice In Chains sample as well...

Keep Me In Your Shake. I can't find a decent sample online (Amazon's 30 second preview misses it by about a second). I'm sure something will pop up eventually. Heaven Beside You is the track sampled, the opening riff slowed down slightly.

If I remember correctly it took about seven years between "100th Window" and "Heligoland."

I'd be surprised if we have a new MA album before Tool's next one.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.

This new one feels more gritty, dense and eclectic than "False Idols".

I do like the mellow, laid back vibe that runs through "False Idols" a bit more though.

False Idols didn't do much for me personally. This new one sounds better thus far, but not convinced it's anything too special yet. It has it's moments though - I reckon it's tracking towards a 7/10.

Have you read my rationalisation of ranking out of 10? It's in one of these threads somewhere. I kind of wanted to know your input, as I think we both rank things a little differently.

Everyone does, really. It's why I hate numbers systems. The only way to ever truly get anything of out reviews is to read a reviewers thoughts over time (not number ratings), and that's assuming they can actually express interesting/cohesive thoughts (most reviewers today fucking SUCK). All about context.

Yes, I believe we've had this discussion somewhere on the site. Basically 1-4 is varying levels of shit, 5 is largely average, 6-7 is above average, 8-9 excellent, 10 perfect.

The Hell Yeah comment hit the sweet spot.
"She's a very charming and delightful creature, and has only one fault that I know of. It happens, unfortunately, that that single blemish is a want of taste. She don't like me."
