I just heard The Soft Parade for the first time in a long while.
Despite its many flaws it's pretty bad ass and kind of ahead of its time.

- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

Re: What are you listening to?
Listening to the new Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album. As expected, it's a pretty depressing affair as he lyrically deals with the death of his son. So far, it continues in a similar vein to Push the Sky Away, so don't go expecting any big rocky numbers. For the most part though, I feel like it's a better album the Push the Sky Away, with some genuinely moving moments.

A definite highlight of the album for me:hellboy wrote:Listening to the new Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but looking forward to giving it a listen in the near future.hellboy wrote:Listening to the new Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds album. Birds Of Tokyo Announce “Darker” New Album ‘Brace’, Share Heavy Title Track

Birds Of Tokyo have announced their “darker” new album Brace and revealed the first single and title track from their forthcoming record.
In an interview with triple j this morning, the band revealed their fifth studio album will have a “very deliberate” new sound, taking a “darker, dirty rock direction”.
Birds Of Tokyo said earlier this year that they thought the forthcoming record wouldn’t get much radio play because it was too ‘heavy’.
“Rock music sucks these days, but it doesn’t have to,” the band told triple j‘s Kyran Wheatley and Gen Fricker. Birds Of Tokyo worked on the new record with Dave Bottrill, who has previously worked with Tool, Muse and Smashing Pumpkins, and the band say he’s “the best producer we’ve worked with to date”.
“Mums of Australia are going to hate it,” said the band’s Adam Spark when asked what fans of their last effort Lanterns will think of their latest creative project.
Birds Of Tokyo also revealed that Friday, 4th November is the release date for Brace, and said they’re planning on taking the new record on the road for a bunch of tour dates in November and December.
The band debuted a bunch of new songs at a special show in Sydney last night, including a track called Discoloured with The Jezabels‘ Hayley Mary. Check it out below, alongside Brace and the album’s cover art.

Re: What are you listening to?
Sounds like a synth heavy Karnivool track. Still not enough to get me interested, as for the most part it's the vocals that are the killer, not the music.

Re: What are you listening to?
Yeh its definitely more in the Vool territory, hence me digging it. I was like yourself for years with his lyrics and then one day , just sort of clicked for me and I fell in love with Karnivool. Given how long its been now though, can't see you changing your opinion any time soon.
