Weird, I thought they were almost done with it and not barely halfway done. Not sure why I thought so though..

Well, I bought a Coachella ticket last year, knowing I can sell it if the line up sucks. Well this year APC is playing the last day, so I guess I am going.
I know most people on this forum don't like APC and hate festivals... But I'll have fun seeing them in the desert.

I love festivals personally. The COachella lineup for about the 10th time in a row is pretty meh.
Re: Random 'A Perfect Circle' Social Media Thread
I can't say that I agree with that. This years lineup is incredible imo except for rock-music, the headliners are on point. Eminem with a new album last year, The Weeknd still riding the Starboy train and Beyonce, well she's Beyonce. I'd go in a heartbeat if it wasn't so far away, APC before Portugal the man also makes sense due to their Feel it Still hit last year.

so you are in to the Weekend and Beyonce?! i think the headliners are pretty garbage, but the supporting acts are fairly stackedEttan wrote:I can't say that I agree with that. Re: Random 'A Perfect Circle' Social Media Thread
The headliners are complete rubbish really, though I can get behind the pop day that is Beyonce for the most part (though I wouldn't go)
Coachella hasn't really been a rock festival for some time though, so I didn't really expect otherwise. The real killer for me is not so much the headliners, it's that the support acts are largely quite forgettable.

Eminem's like 10 years past his expiration date, it's odd he's headlining a festival like this.

Angsty white middle aged men drive ticket sales, which is why Tool also headline festivals.

They have all the demographics covered! Hipster youth, and thirty something soccer moms as well! Clever marketing by Coachella. It's the coolest place to be, no taste in music required!

Pfffft. That festival could do with some Ramleh and Skullflower.
I'll bet you can buy a kale and cucumber smoothie there.

Well...for what it's worth, I really like both of the new tracks: The Doomed and Disillusioned.
Still not sure about Hourglass, but a studio version of Feathers on the new album would be great too.
And, although By and Down was released on Three Sixty, I wonder if it'll make a reappearance.
Soon enough...

So, what about a possible release date? “Well, the second quarter (April – June) is when we’ve always been on track to put out this album,” Howerdel explained.

My guess it is the album title and release date announcement.

I'm guessing it's more tour dates for April and May...a couple of of which have already started to trickle in.
16 May - Columbia, MO - Mizzou Arena
26 May - Dallas, TX - Starplex Pavilion

Im thinking it will be released in April. Would set them up perfect for the tour that you assume is coming. With a few festivals, and a few random show dates.fortysixand2 wrote:I'm guessing it's more tour dates for April and May...a couple of of which have already started to trickle in.

Re: Random 'A Perfect Circle' Social Media Thread
I agree - if they're going to announce a whole bunch of tour dates, my expectation is that it would be following an album release. We'll see I guess
Re: Random 'A Perfect Circle' Social Media Thread
This new APC stuff has me confused. There are pieces there of the APC I love, but then there are these Depeche Mode moments that I don't enjoy at all. Curious to hear the entire album. Feel like it will take some time to grow on me. Plus I can't lie it is hard to get super excited for APC right now when I know there is new Tool music ready for lyrics.

I certainly don't dislike what I've heard so far, but none if it is great enough to get all that excited about. I'm certainly keen for the album, but have somewhat low expectations at the moment.

I agree with all of this. The new APC songs are pretty bad, and Maynard's contribution is probably the worst part of it. As much as I am concerned about Maynard's output quality moving forward, I have complete respect for his commitment to his endeavors and projects.M0G wrote:This new APC stuff has me confused. I still believe that there were maybe 2 or 3 songs that weren't done that are now ready for lyrics. Most of the music was already finished. It's not like they just dropped 90 minutes of music on his lap and said "Here you go."

Sounds like the (almost) original lineup of Smashing Pumpkins is back together, and recording. I wonder what this means for Iha's involvement in APC:

Was Iha ever with them in the studio? I could’ve sworn he’s only been part of the live band.
