Worked well at Chappelle's shows in the past few years. I hope more bands adopt this, honestly.

Also FINALLY saw Sleep last month. Everything I thought it would be and more. Amazing show.

Sleep were great the first time I saw them. The second time the novelty had worn off somewhat.

Red Fang in May:
American sledgehammer stoner metal giants RED FANG are returning to Australia, so hold onto your beard, because things are going to get messy!

RED FANG, in its own nutty fashion, turn distortion rock into an imperious form of Rock Theater, at times with its tongue rammed as far as its cheek muscles will contain it.

Joining the tour, will be local rockers DRUNK MUMS and you’d be hard pressed to find someone that’s into rock and roll that doesn’t get lost in one of their live shows.

Prepare for a stoner sludge avalanche in all its Rock-n-Roll glory. The RED FANG live show is jagged mother of nitro rock and it’s “akin to a landslide ploughing into bystanders who are more than eager to be swept away by their corpulent arsenal. Ever teetering on the edge of apocalyptic rumble and good-time groove, the mammoth fuzz just keeps on coming “– Metal Hammer

Tickets go on sale Thursday 8 February, 9am local

TOUR DATES:
Thursday 10 May – The Brightside, Brisbane - 18+
Friday 11 May – Cambridge Hotel, Newcastle - 18+
Saturday 12 May – Manning Bar, Sydney - 18+
Sunday 13 May – Corner Hotel, Melbourne - 18+
Tuesday 15 May – The Barwon Club, Geelong – 18+
Wednesday 16 May – Fowlers Live, Adelaide – 18+

I caught Mammal at The Corner for their ''xmas eve" gig. They are back and sounding like they never stopped. Looking forward to what comes next!

Full Dark Mofo lineup announced, also includes Einstürzende Neubauten, St Vincent, Loud Reed, Merzbow and more. Good reason to go to Tassie I reckon (though I won't be)

Just like a lot of bands, it's my modus operandi, after work I just can't be fucked driving 2 hours and back to see a band, this needs to change

That is not really an option for a mid week show with work the next day.

I am very lucky living in NorCal, with SF, Oakland and San Jose in easy driving distance. Living in a small market would SUCK!

Yeh fair call.

I live in a regional town 2000 kms away from nearest capital city so lap up live gigs as much as we are lucky enough to get.

Pretty sweet lineup for this festival:

Not sure at what point Tame Impala and King Lizzard became bigger drawcards than half those acts.

My Bloody Valentine are the only ones I'd put higher. King Gizzard is pretty big nowadays, I see people talking about them quite a bit, and I think Tame Impala have a pretty big following here in the states as well.
