Re: Movie/TV News

They were both ok in parts. I preferred Salvation - I thought it had an interesting story and spin on the whole Skynet thing, but was just lacking in execution. Lacking in execution is right: I recall a scene in a dilapidated gas station along a barren highway where the characters step outside to f...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I don't think that Tool would hold back a "magnum opus" just because they want fulfill their contract with something lesser. I agree with that, especially after hearing what Adam had to say during the meet and greets, but I do think expectations for some epic release should be tempered. W...

Yeah, there was nothing in the trailers that looked promising.

I recall the prior one, Salvation, being quite a mess as well.

Although, there were moments in Rise of the Machines that I enjoyed.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I bet tool releases a new album next spring. I hope it's a double with full length film. That would be worth the wait If what we've been hearing is true, that they're still contractually obligated to deliver one more album, it just doesn't make much sense that it would be a double, triple, quadrupl...

Re: Twin Peaks

David Lynch is writing the new season so that's unlikely to be case. David Lynch and Mark Frost weren't really involved in the majority of the second season and the episodes Lynch was involved were involved in were the best of the season so... Most excellent news. Looking forward to it even more now.

Re: Twin Peaks

I loved the first season of Twin Peaks. I've watched it since it was originally aired and still enjoyed it. Of course I watched the second season as well, but it just wasn't the same, and I've never gone back to re-watch any of those episodes (other than the final two). Fire Walk With Me was just cr...

Yeah, looks pretty shit to me. Then again I didn't like the Guardians of the Galaxy trailers either, and that turned out ok.
A very excellent point.

Re: Nine Inch Nails

Nope. The only one that really needed one got it, PHM. I still prefer my original TVT release of Pretty Hate Machine. I like the re-mastered version, but it's that original copy I listened to over and over that takes me back. I also really like the 5.1 surround sound of The Downward Spiral. It made...

Then again, I didn't see the first Avengers in the theater and really didn't think much of it once I saw it.

Still haven't see The Age of Ultron either.

For some reason I keep thinking that Adam's having another kid. Yeah, maybe, I dunno. This is definitely the part of being a fan of anything that I cringe at...the personal/private stuff. But back to the topic at hand...I haven't listened to any Pusficer in a while, and I always enjoy checking out ...

I saw Failure perform in store at Amoeba Records in Hollywood tonight. They were incredible, and now I'm hoping they play a full show somewhere nearby. This was the first time I've ever seen them live and even though I think "Fantastic Planet" is great, I wasn't really interested in checki...

I wouldn't call Adam's son a new born. In fact, I think Maynard's daughter is younger and almost a year old.

^Good to know, thanks!

I think the last Atom Egoyan film I saw was Ararat. I recall that one being pretty good.

Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter, and Felicia's Journey are the only others I've seen.

^Big fan of Wovenhand and 16 Horsepower. Refractory Obdurate is great. It was definitely a bit shocking when it was announced they'd be opening for Tool, but I think DEE and MJK share a similar musical passion. Wish I could have been at that Red Rocks show. Must have been cool for all the guys in Wo...

Re: What are you listening to?

Yeah, it's ok, not the 9/10 some sites seem to be claiming, but at least a 7. After a couple of close listens I agree, 7 out of 10. Really a 6.66 if I average my ratings of the 12 songs individually (not counting the Segues). My favorite song is "Snow Angel," "Counterfeit Sky" i...

I think it was more the plausibility of the entire story. Just a bit too far fetched how everything came together, but as...

Interstellar - entertaining. Really enjoyed the soundtrack. Boyhood - eh, it was alright. Restrepo - eye o...
