Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Funny how for years everyone complained about Tool just playing a greatest hits setlist every tour. Now with a new album on the horizon people are complaining about the IDEA of them only playing new music. We know nothing about their next tour and people are already complaining about pure speculati...

Re: Descending / Invincible

The Rockville shows are the ones with the annoying drunk woman shouting. Definitely not the go to recordings. These Berlin videos or Birmingham were the best I have heard.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Awesome! Another Hailstone video we won't ever get to see. Maybe some of us will see two thirds of it in 5-6 years!

Check out his other stuff. Very reminiscent of Tool's old creepiness. I like it.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Christ what is with these redditors. Descending is Descending. The song they played live is the song you are going to hear on the album. As for the second half Maynard doesn't sing because it isn't necessary. Tool have never been a band that work off of a standard 4/4 chrous/verse etc etc. The firs...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I don't understand why people think MJK should sing in the second half. Tool has so many cool instrumental parts and Descending's second half is just one of them. That is the thing, this isn't one section, it's an entire half of a song (and one half that is long than most songs in general). For a b...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I don't see how May May could offer any lyrics to the second half of Descending, if he could have he would have. It's just so already complete. It even has the Triad synth part in there near the end. It totally sounds like he should come in at the gong hit with some subtle, long notes, sort of resp...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Dude. Calm the fuck down. There are threads for random spazzings This is no time for caution! Chode was always fake, but I have a line on the actual album. It's called Generkenflurken. Golden is the primary color. Each band remember has adopted a Golden Girl avatar for the artwork. Danny is Dorothy...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

The symmetry is absolutely relevant when the object in the image implies it should exist. This thing is incoherent and looks like a grade school level drawing where the handle of form isn't exactly strong. This isn't purposeful nor is it organic. It is lack of skill. No one serious would put this on...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Knock “chod” all you want, but what did y’all say when the title “10,000 Days” was leaked? I was hoping the title would be Secks Tool There's a big hurdle in believe-ability from 10,000 Days to "penis that is wider than it is long" reference. The person who wrote this was trying to come u...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Here's the inside scoop. The album has actually been divided up into 80,000 pieces per country. On August 30th you will have to pay for access to an exclusive Tool app that will coordinate your national scavenger hunt. Once pieces are found, everyone must work together to paste the pieces together i...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I just saw over on reddit that Adam was playing a new riff over the 3rd verse/chorus section of Invincible last night (Guitar and drums, bass and drums, then all three). It felt to me as if Maynard should have some response roll to the guitar and ending cadence of Descending and it is odd he never r...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

You can watch at 2:00. There are subdivision hits laced throughout the groove that sound higher pitched than the bass drum. I guess he could be playing some melody on the bass drums, but it really doesn't sound like it. Edit: Around three minutes is a good spot because the video focuses on him. The...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Can anyone tell what is going on with Danny's part during the verses? He's clearly keeping time in 3/4 on the wavedrum with his right hand, snare on 7 in the song's 7/8, with some bass drums around, but in between these things you hear percussion that sounds like it would be pad samples, but his ha...

I think Aenema is an odd opener. It doesn't really have that feel. Then again, I think third eye is weird to open with too.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Still debating this? Hellboy has specifically stated the album is not going to have as many songs, but they are all very long. 6 songs max. MATH..Descending...just under 12 mins....Invincible 12 and a half...add in the 15 min song..about 39-40mins...half the album 3 songs. Has been stated a number ...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I think the synth bleeding into RIT is more of a coincidence than an affirmation the tracks are one. A coincidence?? Well now you're just taking the piss mate I second this. The songs are clearly joined as Intension definitively fades into Right In Two. 10k Days in general has its songs arranged in...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Why are people so hung up on the 7 track thing? The impression I got from Adam at the clinic was that there were about 10 tracks plus interludes that they were sort of each working on themselves.

Re: 10,000 Days Reminisced

I was in the final months of my junior year of high school. I downloaded the leak a few weeks before the album came out. I bought the CD at the local record store I worked at for years. I bought it, put it on and kind of rolled my eyes. Then I got wasted, had me some KFC and listened again. Marginal...

The strangest thing was the clinics marketing Opiate like it was actually coming out before this album. I've even seen 2/3 of the damn thing... yet a year later and still nothing.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Seems like every man and his dog has had a go at remastering these. Seriously. Every day there is some new remaster. All the ones I have listened to sound horrible compared to the unedited concert recording. People seem to love jacking the high and mid-ranges up to make things more immediately audi...
