Re: Star Wars Hype Train
Ep II is actually the worst one. I agree. I think there are some fun things in there: Obi-wan tracking down Jango, the arena battle with the creatures and then the following Jedi battle, in addition to the Yoda and Dooku fight. But those fun things don't make up for the horrible dialogue, poor CGI ...

I didn't check right when they first went on sale, but later that same day there were still 410 tickets available. Now less than 50 apparently.azbay wrote:...also when I did the vip there was maybe like 50 people, looks like this time they have sold at least 140 tickets.

It's all good.Kittaan wrote:To be clear, I wasn't upset. And it was quite easy to just not read it (I didn't, 'cause I haven't see the movie). I just think since the option is there, we should use it.
I definitely recommend checking the movie out. Really good flick, despite some very minor distractions.

Re: What are you watching? Film/TV
Sicario was fantastic. Hands down film of the year. I really liked Sicario, but there were a few things that really stuck out as week elements. 1. The night-vision scene. I liked the black & white technique they used showing a character's POV, but then they'd switch to a grainy/green master sho...

Nice, Norm. Glad you had a good show. Lettuce was super funky last night and they played for hours. Cornell solo was excellent. He is undoubtedly one of the best voices in rock, and he was on. So glad it wasn't with the band he put together, this was so much better. Just him with an array of acoust...

Re: Live Shows, Tours, Hedge Clippings, etc.
Truly stunning performance by Chelsea Wolfe & band at The Regent Theater in DTLA tonight. The tracks off of Abyss are just as ethereally heavy played live, and Dylan Fujioka is stellar on the drums. Wovenhand set a great tone for the night as opening band too. Definitely recommend this show if y...

Re: What are you listening to in the yard?
I've been listening to this one for a couple days now and it's been giving me flashbacks to the early days of grunge (through a doom metal lens), only to finally read this on their Bandcamp page: "Produced by Jack Endino (Nirvana, High On Fire, Soundgarden, etc)." There it is. It should al...

they are doing some pe-production stuff for VIII, I've never seen "Looper" and Rian is directing Episode VIII. I hear good things about him, anyone have any input? I know you guys are pretty damn good movie critics. I really liked 'Looper.' Definitely recommend checking it out. I'm hoping...

PS - Now that's how you do Cookie Monster... use it like a spice (a tasty one) not the main course. I agree. I was about ready to give up early on but am glad I stuck with it. Re: Puscifer New Album discussion thread
Studio Pucifer has little draw for me. I haven't listened to much of the studio tracks more than a handful of times and nothing I've heard from the new album, tracks or samples, makes me think that will change. Still looking forward to the live gig, as they haven't disappointed that way yet in the ...

Re: Puscifer New Album discussion thread
Despite the recylced/cliche lyrics of "Grand Canyon", I still enjoy it. If 'Money Shot' can capture the same feel as the COMP album, I'd consider it a success. The only track that felt out of place on that album was "Man Overboard." I liked the track, but I never figured out how ...
