Re: Tool - 26 January 2016 - Charlotte, NC

Wow, loved listening to that IEM recording, thanks for the link! The extra synth bits in the intros to songs that I have never heard over the main speakers were insane. Adam mentioned that Tool does not play to a click track live, so I guess Danny's drums are what they all key off of and hence are m...

The 3 shows I went to were

3Teeth - 7:15
Primus - 8:00
Tool - 9:15

Give or take 5-10 minutes.

Full on hipster. He was wearing suspenders and bow-tie in Dallas.

Adam said the Opiate video is now in the hands of the editor and that he (Adam) was relatively hands off in the making of this video.

Re: Tool - 14 January 2016 - Houston, TX

Yep, we got Vicarious instead of Sweat tonight - saw/heard Sweat last night in SA. I have to say that to my ear this was one of the worst sounding Tool shows I have been to. They had the bass turned up in the mix and I could hear the speakers buzz from being over driven. Maynard didn't sing on a bun...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

With all the delays, these guys have put themselves under a huge amount of pressure to put out a good/great album. I mean, imagine if they finally finish this record and it **shudders** sucks?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

I do wonder though: is it possible that the album is finished? Why would they bring in Evil Joe Baressi to mix an odds and sods album of live shit and unreleased stuff? Surely they could do that themselves. I wonder if the curveball is the fact that the new album will be available as a download? It...

Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc

Just to break up the death metal/grindcore talk, super excited to see Rush in 2 days. Based on setlists from previous nights, the boys are pulling out all the stops - 32 songs a night, no wonder this was not a 100 city tour!

Re: The Grudge (WARNING: Meh... why bother?)

Hopefully Maynard will stop recording tracks that are out of his healthy vocal range. Very interesting comment. It makes me wonder if MJK would sacrifice some of his vision on a song/album for the sake of being able to play it night after night? He clearly knows what his voice can and can't do thes...

Hell, at this point I wouldn't mind them going into the studio and just recording all the covers they have done over the years. Oh, and Blair's last newsletter has convinced me that he eats some shrooms before hitting the keyboard.

Re: No Big Day Out 2015?

The Big Day Festival has been a staple of Australia’s music scene for more than 20 years, with annual shows in five Australian cities and Auckland, New Zealand. Now, the event’s promoter has announced the 2015 event will not be held, but left the door open for its resumption in 2016. The American-b...
