Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
That decoy album theory was fucking hilarious back in the day lol I personally was disappointed when I first heard the Vicarious single. It took seeing it live to appreciate that one. But once the album dropped I thought it was awesome despite not being at all what I expected.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
yeah, that one is awesome Agreed about Danny at his age. I saw him play with the DCT at Stumpfest and he may be old but goddamn he can still lay it down like only a high grade magus can. The dude is a badass of the highest order. Some of those drum parts are just ludicrous :0

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
You know, he just said basically that he sees now why it had to take so long to make the album in order for it to be what it is. I have no idea what that means, but you know Tool is such an emotional thing by nature and this guy struggled to be specific. But clearly he had been moved by what he hear...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Soooooo I recently talked again with the afore-mentioned acquaintance who heard an incomplete version of the album. He seemed pretty blown away by what he heard, saying it might be his favorite Tool album based on just a couple of listens to an unfinished album. So that's pretty cool.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Was Undertow really that heavy compared to their other albums? I've never thought so. The songs are heavy, but the recording does sound "tinny". If it were recorded and/or mixed differently and maybe even slowed down a bit it would be a more viscerally heavy record. But I think the commen...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I expect the paradigm shift probably won't be as large as some are assuming from that statement. I think for the most part it'll be the same Tool we are used to. I agree. I've been lurking here for years and been a Tool fan since '96 but have never posted. Buuuut I happen to have an acquaintance wh...
