Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

You newbs missed out on the pre-concert Fourtheye BBQ/piss up next the Yarra. A good time was had by all! It was a great show. I got to meet the Jakob dudes back stage and they were all nice guys. Was cool to see Justin on stage in a ghillie suit! Mm... crawling over the stage. The only thing that ...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

^ Cheers for this man. I was at that fucking show too, absolutely amazing. I wish I had a better view of the stage, but it was definitely an amazing show It's totally worth paying overs on ebay for a ticket in the stalls at the Meyer Music Bowl if you can't get a presale - I caught them twice there...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Jakob from NZ recently released 'Sines' - I was trawling through some local reviews and this one had a bit of info about how they met Jones and (eventually) opened for Tool. http://www.offthetracks.co.nz/jakob-whats-so-funny-about-injured-hands-dissolving-labels-and-eight-years-between-records/ I wa...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

The recent sales of Salival are generating new turnover for content they were/are being sued for; they could be flogging these off to act intentionally litigious if they still need to prove their general liability insurance policy glove fits. Unlikely, but worth a thought. Also, the 'lenticular' stu...

Do you suppose Justin's mystic state of prolificacy 'on the new album' has waned somewhat since Danny declared it in March......2012?

Re: New Album Release Date Competiton

At the Arizona VIP Q&A someone asked Jones about problem 8 which he gave a perplexed looked saying "what is that?, I don't know what he [Blair] is referencing too? yeah I don't know what that is" not verbatim but I'm sure pretty close. Then he went on talking about BMB for a little bi...

Twice, as far as I can tell.

I think we can all safely skip this one. The last cover The Nard was involved with was a catastrophe.
I think his 'Rocket Man' cover with Steven Drozd is pretty neat.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

So the art was used in the 90's, the policy was taken out with AIM for 2002-2003 coverage, and the claim was made in 2005. Kinda weird. What's the deal with taking out an insurance policy to insure you for damages that you know are on their way? Doesn't seem like something the insurers would be queu...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Allrightythen - let me try - It's about whether or not their general liability insurance policy (a common policy for businesses) covers what they've specifically been using the art for. The insurance companies involved say no, and want $ for time wasted going to court over it. Tool says yes, and wan...

I don't think they are lying. But why in late 2013 did may may say in the JRE interview that he was going to pick up a cd from the guys and start doing his thing? And they have one song near complete? What about that epic 25 min piece? This. Undecided if the article is worth speculating over, or co...

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread

Neat vid - good to have them all in one clip like that. Hadn't heard the T&L before; it almost seems necessary for a gig. I think you could submit to a critical audience a pretty decent argument that the new part of Opiate and the 4min jam surfacing in '12 will be somewhere around the mark this ...

Slightly OT but I still watch the Tuva sawblade/eye intro on the Lateralus '02 bootlegs - best intro ever.... wish it'd be released someday/somehow. Always thought it'll be on the DVD. I'd ask Jones about where it came from if I had a Q&A... or if I could weasel a copy. The video intermission on...

This video is almost exactly the same as the one Joshua Davis took way back when he did that demo artwork and the current Toolband spash screen, which is now practically a decade old.
