Re: Questions for Adam
I can understand why they wanted it removed, but after listening to it, I think it would just fuel the fire to purchase VIP when the opportunity arises. I'm already planning on doing it whenever they come east. Just to be in the room and watch Adam play the guitar is pretty cool. Seeing the props in person and hearing that he gave everyone his undivided attention during the meet and greet/picture portion is an experience in and of itself. I know CJ29 would have a problem not jizzing all over his Diezel "jamming" rig.
Re: Questions for Adam
I found it fascinating and also a really great endorsement of the experience. I mean... almost 2 hours just for talking? That's crazy generous actually. I truly don't understand the people that are complaining and saying "oh NOW that I've heard it I'd never go." I mean, not wanting to pay for VIP things full-stop, I get. But this really does go beyond what almost any other band does for these sort of things.
But at the same time, he's kind of giving the same general spiel at each one so releasing this in the middle of the tour is really bad form. I'm kind of surprised it got uploaded as quick as it did given that surely Kanaduh is aware of this (and obviously a really passionate and good dude). There's always been a kind of unspoken rule with bootlegs in that sense for a variety of common sense reasons.
Namely, it potentially fucks up future VIP sessions on this tour because now Adam might be more cagey (although I doubt it as word of mouth spreads just as quick if he gives out any information), annoyed, and the security will no doubt be bigger dicks and really encroach on the experience for future VIP people. Why should they suffer just so we can hear something we didn't pay for early?
Also if you've learned nothing else from this band, the concept of things being "special" and meant to be "in the moment" is possibly the most glaringly obvious.

Re: Questions for Adam
Having been to the same room the day before, it was really interesting to hear the recording. I'd say the majority of Adam's narrative was at least similar. As someone else pointed out, there are still quite a few little nuggets that come from it being spontaneous, and it definitely was.
Personally, I had the opportunity to record it, but I just didn't feel right doing it given that Adam specifically asked us not to. I sure as hell wished I could have taken a couple of pictures or a short video clip (especially while he was playing right in front of me), but on the other hand, it would have been a major distraction with everyone doing so, and definitely would have taken us all out of the "moment" for the experience.
I mentioned elsewhere that I pulled the trigger on the VIP thing very spontaneously and immediately regretted it. All the way up to when Adam walked in the room. After his talk my opinion changed. It was a really unique experience. I can definitely relate to people who just don't get it: why offer it and why go? I went in expecting it to feel very staged and "wrong". It just didn't. I really liked Adam, what he had to say and how he communicated. That being said, I would not do it again. Unless it was Danny and Justin doing a clinic. Sign me up for that shit right away.
I hope Adam isn't negatively affected by the recording being made public, that would be a shame for all involved.

Fuck every time someone asked a question I cringed.
Was a fun listen otherwise - wonder what will be said in the follow up Q&A about this?

Re: Questions for Adam
The VIP attendees are just getting to the venue now for today's Fresno show. I imagine we'll hear from at least one of them, and I would be surprised if it didn't come up in Adam's talk.264zn wrote:Fuck every time someone asked a question I cringed.

Why is there not a Fresno thread?

Adam, have you heard of a wookie band named Umphrey's McGee, and if so, did you know that they are absolutely butchering the 46&2 cover they do?

Re: Questions for Adam
They are actually a pretty talented bunch of musicians. They do a ton of improv live, but like most jam bands the singing is terrible. They need to leave Tool songs alone. I believe the drummer sings 46&2.

They've been calling themselves old since the first Aenima show in Pomona, California. Great bootleg, btw.

Re: Questions for Adam
At this rate, what is the likelihood that a member of the band may pass away before the next record is put out?

LOL. Pass away is far different than saying murdered. Unless that's what you have in mind? Not Tyson wrote:Is that a threat?iloveposters wrote:At this rate, what is the likelihood that a member of the band may pass away before the next record is put out?
There should be serious concern over this. Like some sort of life insurance policy for fans or band members dying of old age and natural causes before the record comes out.
