Can’t fucking WAIT !

starting to wonder how I will approach listening. I’d hate to over hype it like I did with 10k days. I love 10k and loved it when it first dropped but instead of hitting the album over from the start after the first listen through I went straight to Jambi, then Rosetta. I want the whole album to reach out and pull me in like lateralus did.

So far these two new songs have that pull

There has been some fantastic tunes along the way that I’ve discovered thanks to this forum and have kept me happy, but this is the ultimate as a lifelong fan.
I feel the same way about this album. My son and family are kinda tripping out on me. I'm constantly talking about the new Tool album and every tidbit I read about the album. Like last night when the GW article was posted on here I freaking freaked out and told them and they were just looking at me like, Dad? And I'm like Adam Jones is freakin awesome! I feel like a freaking teenager, lol!

Haha, same in my house man. Kids and wife are tripped out how giddy I am about new tunes. Wife being a fan as well is holding out on Invincible and descending. Good for her, I jumped all over it the day it was on YT.

Can’t wait to see YOUR reaction vid, Normster!!

Do you have this much will power with other things?

I’d say “Enjoy”, but we both know you will...

This has been a test for sure.

There was a point last week when I was watching something on YouTube and Fear Inoculum showed up as the first item in the recommendation list...and I was definitely tempted. Just one listen. No one will know.

But then I thought of everyone else here abstaining with me, and couldn't let them down.

I am definitely ready for next week though: disconnected and reconnected my amplifier, CD player, and speakers; checked all the cables, connections, and surge protector; picked up new headphones and have them warmed up and waiting.

I just need to figure out how I'm going to listen to this thing. Do I listen to the CD first, without the three additional segues? Do I download a high quality digital copy with all 10 tracks?

Decisions, decisions.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Tool.

Boldizar has spoken, so it shall be! :D

Now I'll just need to find a high quality download.

Unfortunate that I'll have the CD but will need to download it (i.e. purchase it again) in order to experience the entire album.

I mean, I guess I could just download the MP3 files included with the CD, but...c'mon.

The double bass has so much kick I love it’s power but the smaller rolls combined with the floor tom are the best. Listen for the double bass rolls in descending before he goes crazy. Such a nice touch.

- You like noisy music?
- Yes. The louder the better. Stops me from thinking.
- You don't like to think? What do you like?
- Never thought about it.

^As soon as it shows up on Qobuz or HD Tracks (hopefully about this time tomorrow night) I'm all in.

Otherwise it'll have to wait until Friday afternoon.

Looking forward to reading all the comments and talking about this one for the next few years. :)

Going to wait until Saturday. Wake up and go for a surf before breaky at the local. Grab a takeaway coffee then head to this secluded spot half way up a cliff with incredible views straight out over the ocean. Skin one up, get settled in, headphones on and away we go... Not going to rush any of it either. Perhaps even purposely go slow about my day, take my time and just enjoy this feeling of the last time I'll hear a new TOOL album. Then jump off the cliff.

The overall drumsound is amazing! There's so much clarity, yet so much BOOM.

Yeah I do love the sounds of the toms and bass drum but do wish the cymbals were a touch higher in some parts of the songs.

In CCTRIP with headphones you feel like you are sitting in his seat playing the drums

Must be a great time to be Australian! Enjoy!

Does anyone else think Fear Inoculum (the song) is like digital edging. They build up the momentum to the point you think they are going to rip and then they roll back to the melodic chanting vibe. As Willy Wonka said “The suspense is terrible! I hope it’ll last.‘
