I bet you'll be able to fly yourself to L.A. and watch dress rehearsal for the next tour or something. Surely with some kind of meet and greet.

I want DC's bronze bass drum for a GT prize.  Or more reasonably a signed signature snare.

I imagine it would be a situation like they did for the 'capper a while back, go see a jam session with the boys at the loft and some sort of meet and greet. Hell, they may play some of the new material they've been working on.

What if it's a sneak peek at the new album at some sort of listening party a couple weeks before it's released? If I remember correctly, Kabir did this with 10,000 Days.

They had sex with 5000 of us and are taking 5 to dinner.

It's Tool's version of The Bachelor.

I actually think it might be something more worthwhile than that. I'm sure whatever it is, Maynard won't be involved.

I liked it.  Expectations met.

Playing the same set lists night after night

Only happened on one tour, and thankfully not a tour I saw.

Opiate re-release

Still yet to recieve it.  Feedback so far seems to be good.

$650 meet and greet packages

Don't disagree with this one in principal, but I doubt anyone who actually pays the money will be too disappointed.

Vicarious DVD

Schism DVD

Parabola DVD

Didn't have super high expectations for any of these.  Sure it would have been nice to have some more extras on them, but as they were not advertised as containing such things, I wasn't too concerned.

Coming up to 7 years since the last album

I have no expectations in regards to the release date for the album.  My only expectation is that it will be good.

The "same set list" complaints have always been weird to me.

People realize its not the same crowd every night, right?

To me it's more been about set list choice rather than the fact they're the same.  I imagine few would complain if they played Lateralus from beginning to end each night, but play a set full on 10,000 Days tracks and they complainers are out in force.

Speak for yourself I guess.  Everytime I've been to a Tool show I've noticed things I haven't seen before.

Congrat's if you did win man.

I gotta agree with you for once on something Tool related.  I have bitched about their setlists but mostly because it gets the Toolios up in arms.  Truth is the set list has changed quite a bit over the last three years.  During the 10,000 Days tours the setlist was fairly consistent, but I can't fault the band for that.  As someone else mentioned, when you are touring behind a new album, visiting different cities each night, there isn't going to be much change in setlist.  That is the case with almost any band doing a large tour in support of a new album.

I want things I haven't heard before though, the music is the primary reason I am there, not the pretty light show, if I wanted that I'd get some cough syrup and go to a rave

Plenty of bands vary their setlist nightly. Tool used to do it quite frequently. I dont see why knowing more 12 songs on a tour is a huge imposition. That being said 2012 Tour was an awesome setlist and wasnt too upset to see the show twice.  Now if you went to more than 2 or 3 Tool shows on a tour then that is kind of useless. For other bands, though, you can see them for 10 straight nights with almost totally different shows each night.   gotta know the band you are seeing.

Name those bands.

Yeah, I was thinking I wouldn't announce if I got the golden cucumber either.  I don't know if I want anyone knowing that I had to go to LA and gobble their knobs, which I heard could be the prize.
