There's no way TOOL would do something that lame.  They care too much about their fans.

Bullshit. If that was what it actually was everybody would be bitching about it.

 

Back in 2008, I found 1 of the 9 "? envelopes" as part of NINs google earth scavenger hunt. I found the envelope in the middle of August, which promised a sweet prize upon sending a picture of myself with the envelope to NINs management. There was no mention of what the prize would be.  I waited 8 months before they got back to me. 3 tickets w/ backstage access to a NINJA show of my choice.  Well worth that painful wait.  Granted, NIN/Trent is exponentially more fan friendly than Tool, and I don't mean to imply that the Golden Ticket prize will be in any way comparable to  my "?" prize, but my point is, these things take time.

Why does it have to take time?  They could inform the winners of what the prize is and let them know it could take several months to get.

There's no way the holders of the seals havnt been informed by now. I'm really fucking curious

Probably a listeners party for the new album before anyone else.

Or a tour of the studio while they are recording, ala a chocolate factory.

Or is redeemable for a $7 gift card to the Cheesecake Factory- which will buy you about one beer. Gratuity not included.

That is something I'm working towards getting some clarification on.

Per the original poster of the pic, the prize is still unknown.

Something in that vein seems likely, as nothing has surfaced yet. Surely they wouldn't have given out tickets with no prize in mind..

From what I understand the ticket holder is in the dark as much as anyone. Perhaps unsurprisingly an answer doesn't seem to be forthcoming from to Tool camp. Though when the ticket holder gets in touch wit me, I will go through some alternative channels and see if I can come up with some clarification.

There is no prize as of yet.
When a prize is announced to me by the band
I will let you know.
Also, if anyone else close to the band is given that information
I'm sure they'll announce it as well.
