I'm actually guessing some good stuff will come out of the Q&A event. There's been kind of a trend the past few years with a certain segment of fans getting really frustrated, negative and pissed off and then they go and do something that (at least temporarily) redeems it and makes most people calm down a bit. They'll likely give some new/good info and seemingly perform new stuff at the meet and greet. And I'm sure at least one cool song they haven't dusted off in a bit will get played. Something like You Lied at worst that even though they've played in the past few years, is still rare.

First official festival show?? Theyve played heaps of festivals before or am I misunderstanding what ya putting down?

The set will at least have 1 or 2 surprises in there i reckon.. eg, parabola,ticks & leeches, Eulogy.

Oh yeah, what I mean by official is in regards to the lighting and video production. A couple months back they posted on toolband an interview with the crew that said this is their first official festival production. They also mentioned they tried some ideas out at bonnaroo in 2010. I was at that show and look forward to seeing how they compare. Overall, their stage show gets better every year.

BMB: Let's talk about upcoming Tool shows and tours? Without going into specific details, what might fans expect as far as the stage lighting and video projections during the next round of touring? Also, will there be a separate lighting/projections scheme for indoor shows and outdoor festivals?

BRECK: We are planning to split the show for indoor and outdoor. No longer will outdoor shows be watered-down versions of the arena show. The outdoor Halloween show will be the first of our dedicated festival show.

^this. and if he hates the annoying and insufferable fans (and has all along) isn't that where his best lyrical contributions stem from? aren't those the songs we love? when he's holding up a mirror to himself and others? plus it's a good thing he still has that subtle rage, it means he still cares. indifference is where we lose the bitter, angry, fed up MJK we all enjoy. the next 12 minute super prog track we get about how much he despises super fans is probably going to be the best song on their upcoming final (double) LP.

Yep, if someone from the band would actually make some kind of meaningful statement, it'd go a long way I reckon. Coming from Blair doesn't have the same weight as hearing something from Adam, Justin or Danny (or Maynard, but we all know where he sits on the subject).

I'd hope that the band use the VIP session this weekend so make some kind of statement. It need not be that they've finished or have a specific time line, but just something straight from the horses mouth to let us know where they are at, and what we can expect in the coming months/years
