All of a sudden I'm thinking about hitting up Monster Mash. I've got a week's vacation to burn sometime in Oct/Nov. Tool, Primus and Deftones in the same weekend? Shitt...

Dork moment...
If anyone fails on getting tickets this is the official post to help others out. Shit, it's gotta be more than 5K people that can get in. Also makes one wonder if they'll have the entire production or pull a Hawaii and leave the lasers at home.

At this point, it seems like it might not be a bad idea to start a new thread for this show.

Good news- airplanes have been invented!!!Bones wrote:Got my tickets..... Just have to figure out travel now
Got mine too and last I checked tickets are available. Makes me think there's more than 5000 capacity. Whatever a persons view of Tool is these days 5000 tickets in a fairly populated area like Tempe/Phoenix should be dried up within 30 minutes.

I figured 5000 was to good to be true. Maybe just a ploy.....
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I would say it's significantly easier and cheaper to get their lighting show (including lasers) to Arizona than it is to Hawaii.Krazy_blah wrote:Also makes one wonder if they'll have the entire production or pull a Hawaii and leave the lasers at home.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Agreed- that post was made when I assumed capacity of 5000, which would possibly made a smaller stage/rig.hellboy wrote:I would say it's significantly easier and cheaper to get their lighting show (including lasers) to Arizona than it is to Hawaii.Krazy_blah wrote:Also makes one wonder if they'll have the entire production or pull a Hawaii and leave the lasers at home.
Hopefully they dust off the laser projectors and LED screens. I'd be fine with what they pulled off in St Paul 2012.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
They'll at least equal what they did last time out. They pretty much have never stepped backwards. And 5000 is generally in the area of arenas they play, so it's not like that size would dictate a smaller production.

I would hope the stage production is greater than previous shows. I mean it's a one off festival on Halloween. They can at least play for 2 hours or a little longer, and have lots of lasers. It's supposed to be a celebration, so I hope they will celebrate it with excess. On stage of course.

lame newsletter has been posted..........feels like de ja vu

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Not that I would expect a bunch of extra updates. I think we all know what the update for this month is anyway. Something along lines of "Tool have been working hard at the new album".(NOTE: This newsletter is a work in progress. CHECK BACK for UPDATES).

You think it will be THAT informative?!? You're a little "optimistic" today, aren't you?

If I had to guess they are going to announce the other headliner. It's weird for tool to announce it rather then the festival, but their website directs you to toolband for more info.
Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I don't think there will be another headliner - that'd be pretty unusual I'd say. The remaining bands on the day I expect would be local or low key acts.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
I don't think there will be another Tool caliber announcement, but this pic suggest that someone will be playing between primus & tool on the west stage. This would be the "special guests TBA" that's on the poster.

Ok, I see what you're saying. I just assumed that Primus were the second headliner.MobileVortex wrote:I don't think there will be another Tool caliber announcement, but this pic suggest that someone will be playing between primus & tool on the was stage. Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
My guess is they update us in a few weeks with a couple extra shows tacked onto the Halloween gig. Maybe a couple warm up ones somewhere. Similar to 2014

I'm hoping for some sort of announcement this Friday (July 3rd). Possibly more shows?xZ1mM3r wrote:My guess is they update us in a few weeks with a couple extra shows tacked onto the Halloween gig. Maybe a couple warm up ones somewhere. Similar to 2014
