My wife already wants to road trip the midwest and go to STL, KC, DM, and Chicago. The Hype is real.

This must be another "newsletter in the making" posts.

I’m simultaneously bummed and relieved to see no West coast dates. Bummed for obvious reasons; relieved in case they are doing one last pre-5th setlist tour. The timing could make it go either way. Very Toolish. Let the speculation continue.

Timing is really interesting, and I'm extremely curious how much of the new album gets played on these dates.

I think i have tamed the hype and will probably be shooting for only STL. Man those ticket prices tho, nosebleeds are $72.

My speculation is the album releases the weekend of Chicago Open Air, and they play the full album there for the first time. All shows leading up to it will have new songs sprinkled in as they go. I refuse to believe they are going to debut an album in Jacksonville FL. :P

I honestly wont care if its another round of the pre-5th setlist. I know i will miss it when it's gone.

Those dates SUCK!! The only dates I've already booked out this year for travel are in early/mid May!

Great news for the septics on here 👍

Apologies if this has been asked before but has anyone here been to one of the VIP meet and greets and if so would you recommend it? They haven't announced gigs in the UK yet apart from the one festival but if they do I'd be rather tempted to give it a go.

I can make Louisville work. Wednesday’s not a good night but it’s only a little over an hour away. If my research is correct, the last time they were in Kentucky was 17.5 years ago during the Lateralus tour. Also, I wouldn’t hold my breath for presales.

No Cali dates which is a bummer. I guess they won't tour around these parts until fall after the world tour. I'm kind of ok with that if that's the case, because it means I'll for sure be hearing new music live when I see them again.

I don't think anyone should be surprised this isn't a full tour - they're just taking advantage of a few festival opportunities I think. I'd expect a proper US tour later in the year.

It would be unfair if the fans who bought tickets for the May shows won’t get to hear new stuff live while the fans who get to see them a month or two later hear new songs.
They should premier new songs during the May shows but they will risk the live songs leaking online.
About the vinyl release, isn’t it better for the band to release the album when all formats are ready so they’d sell more that first week and get to number 1?if they release vinyl a little later some people will hold out from buying any other formats and wait for the vinyl so the album will sell less the first week.

Very confused why people on the blog, this forum, and reddit think the vinyl getting done is such a big deal. Yes, vinyl is a lot more popular than it was in 2006, but there is still no 10,000 Days vinyl 13 years later! I honestly don’t see the complete manufacturing of the vinyl version having any effect on the release date, but I obviously don’t know that for sure.

Stoked that the east coast fans got some non festival dates. Really hoping that maybe a couple of southwest dates come in before they head to Europe. It’s a very tight window of time though for anymore dates to be announced. Wouldn’t they want to start touring and bringing the gear closer to home before heading across the pond. I would be willing to travel all the way to Colorado from California just to see them, so hopefully for my wallet they come closer to San Diego, but if not I would love a road trip. I will be in Scotland from May 3-10 so maybe I might be about to pick up a European version of the album, probably no difference though, but would be a long great flight to enjoy the new album. That’s if it comes out before the first tour dates, which I hope for and think is the best idea for them. We will all know soon enough and got to keep patient. Haven’t listened to Tool in a while and after seeing the news about it being mastered finally, I have been playing a lot of Tool.

Have to say it feels fucking good to be this close now.

This is a great time, we won't get the chance to feel this kind of excitement and anticipation for an album release from Tool for a long time if ever. Enjoy it guys.

its not that its not gonna be a good album and good live shows, its just that i dont feel that connected to the whole stuff anymore, and its not even a sad thing, i just lost that goosebumps/catharctic effect with the pre-10kdays stuff, and i got used to them to play "close-but not close enough", wich just made me numb and not that interested

it will be a very good album definetely, but just the whole tool thing seems a bit more distant
or its me gettin older i dont know

What does give you that goosebumps feeling? Is there anything else that still does that for you? There is plenty of music besides Tool that makes my hair stand up and sends shivers down my spine, but Tool is one of the few that are still around that you can witness live and are still creating music, not to mention that they are one of the best at doing it in music history, period. The anticipation and wonder for what we are about to receive is part of the excitement. None of us have a clue as to what is coming our way right now. I feel like a little kid at Christmas!

Could you post a link to the song tool plays that follows this ? Thanks
Just wanted to say thanks for posting this! The best part of this performance is witnessing DC absolutely destroying on drums. His playing has such vegence and ferocity that it’s really something magical. Leading up to the new album I’ve been watching old tool vids. Can’t wait!!

It really depends on their release plans, and to some extent the artwork. The artwork for the last 3 albums has been very much CD package focused, with vinyl more or less an afterthought (very much less in regards to 10k Days). This time around, I wouldn't be surprised if vinyl is the focus and considered the "primary" package in regards to the artwork vision. This being the case, I'd expect release would be when vinyl is ready.

If the CD is the "primary" release, then I don't see Tool holding back the release date to allow for vinyl (though I'd expect that to at least be available for ordering).
