Was Maynard there? Any light shed on new album progress?

Wow. Was the Grudge by request or did they play it polished like they will be playing it for the show tomorrow?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
No Nardo, they basically refused to answer any questions about the new album but did say that there should be real progress now that the lawsuit is out of the way. Adam seemed pretty emotional when talking about it. Most of the questions were shit and had been addressed other places.
They also played
Vicarious
Opiate - new extended version
Parabol
Parabola
New Jam that sounded very familiar
Aenema
Also Adam, said that the Opiate video should be out by new years and that it is directed by Dominic Hailstone

They said they have recorded every show for years. And Justin joked that Adam watches them after every show. He also said that after the album is released their contract would be fullfilled and that they could do whatever they wanted and that it would be fun to put together a live DVD.

That's what he said months ago when the lawsuit was out of the way.lachrymologist wrote: there should be real progress now that the lawsuit is out of the way.

Opiate video, just as Danny had said on Children of Saturn (unless Adam is leading us astray): I think someone out there owes me some money...

^Sounds like something Fry would say on Futurama.

I know I chuckled a little bit. None of them would go into specifics about the new album.Bill Hilly wrote:That's what he said months ago when the lawsuit was out of the way.lachrymologist wrote: there should be real progress now that the lawsuit is out of the way.

Thanks for all the info, man. Were the songs they played by request or did they just break into a mini set for the crowd?

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
People tried to request songs but only after the grudge. I heard a lot of people yelling Triad. But it was clearly a planned setlist which was broken into 2 sets with the Q&A in between

About 500, which was way too many. After making us wait outside for upwards of 3 hours, for some people they packed yes into the bar area like sardines. There was a merch booth and a few artifacts like the parabola guy and a few of their awards. No beer was served before the rehearsal.nxrm wrote:How many people were in attendance?

Definitely sounds like a few too many people, but I would have gone too given the chance. Really does sound like something special.
Thanks again for sharing all the information.

Re: Random Tool Social Media thread
Nothing at all, the Q&A got to be so fucking tedious by the time the dude got around to the middle where I was that I didn't even try and attempt to make it any LONGER
After playing the fist 2 songs Adam asked the crowd if we wanted to do the Q&A or just continue to play. Most people wanted them to keep playing, so they did and played Opiate which seemed like it lasted 15 minutes. Then they did the Q&A.
