If it is I like what I see in just that little bit. I don't have any rings with skulls or tatoo's or a motorcycle with skulls but I am a sucker for skulls in art. Especially the Hispanic skull artwork.

On Lateralus, I helped more with the structure of some of the songs. I remember campaigning to lose a section of the song "Lateralus" that Danny liked a lot. I think he still is a little sorry it didn't' make it into the song.

I was at Eugene and was one of the lucky members of the VIP session. I can confirm that THIS IS NOT FOR THE NEW ALBUM. They played this part for us in the sound test as well and talked about it during the Q&A session. This is part of the new Opiate that they are thinking about releasing at some point. Whether that's with an album or just an amendment to the original song I don't know. But I can 100% tell you that this is a kind of interlude in Opiate and not a new song. I really like the change though and hope it gets recorded at some point.
Apparently they did jam in Portland and their jam may have touched on some of their new material. That's what I understood but it's really not worth looking into too far I would imagine.

Im going to go out on a limb and say that if someone cant tell that adam was completely joking about the new album being finished and released 'tomorrow', someone can easily misunderstand adam in regards to 'getting the record company behind releasing

Wouldn't surprise me if they re-released the re-release from last year but with a new middle part on opiate edited together with audacity, then new artwork (not really new since it's the poster skull) and it would cost $200.

but in all honesty, I really hope they do another Salival with it instead.

It would not shock me if they did do something this stupid, but it also would not shock me if Adam was trolling the fans. To my ears, that new middle section does not blend with Opiate at all. It might just be from the new album.

it surprises me too actually. For how much they say they want the album complete, why would they waste time together NOT making new music. "I know we need to release an album and we've been trying to finish it up, but let's spend this time together reworking an old song. Let's make a 100% new middle section to a song, that is completely new material but not use it for the album."
