Definitely. For starters, Lateralus was the end of smaller venues, but more to the point, the live show introduced a lot more of the theatrics, lighting etc that weren't part of the show prior. The Aenima tour was more visceral & organic. Both experiences, awesome... Just very different.

I think those things had already been there for some time. The scale just changed a bit.
