According to a post on reddit May Jay will sing on a song in The Flaming Lips cover album of Sgt Pepper's...etc (Beatles). The article it was linked to wanted me to create a username so I didn't bother with it.
Of note, supposedly Miley Cyrus will be on it too. Loulz

Is there a middle ground dude?
Were they overhyped? I think so. Were they masters of their instruments? No (competent though). Did they craft memorable songs with great vocal harmonies? Yes, IMO, many.
But having grown up in the 60's/70's, whether or not you like the music (clearly not) they changed rock/pop music. Their stamp is still on today's music.
I am pretty god damned sick of hearing even the songs I like by now, but I definitely disagree with "They absolutely sucked".

"They absolutely suck?" I think history rules that out. They were and still are massively influential to all kinds of music.
