agreed. Its hard to deny serious progress when you have a photo of all 4 band members in the loft.
you see what I did there? no predictions or nonsense. it's just a picture but it does speak ten thousand words.

well whatever they put on a cd for MJK to listen to obviously rattled him enough to where he came to the studio, if it was a BBQ or something that would be one thing. but them sitting in front of the boards together is very exciting to a 20+ year long fan.

I agree 100%, that picture said a lot. They are well aware that there are millions of people hanging out for any news and this was finally a good piece of news without all of the ambiguity.

Well how about that, apparently Blair's newsletters are filtered/screened by the band.

(Or he's just making up an excuse for being late)

I wonder if by "too frightening" he meant too much information being given. Or something.

That's how I read it. Blair is not allowed to say that smoke is on the horizon. Not yet.

Smart move not to build up hype when you don't have any valid information (or content), I appreciate that.

Personally I think it's just that he hasn't caught up with the band this month, and therefore has nothing to report just yet. Like all of us I'm hoping there's some new info in the newsletter, but I don't see any point in getting my hopes up.

So which one of you crazy sons of guns got the 99 cent signed by all members drum head?

Newsletter is classic Blair, by the way. The only thing I really caught was the obvious "SPRING" mention and a couple of tour references. Mentioned Australia too.

Don't read it if you don't like Classic Blair.

I'm not entirely sure there was even one to begin with. I just thought that message was amusing.

Interesting update of sorts today on Toolband:
After more writing/arranging sessions with TOOL during the day, DANNY will be performing at night with THE WEBB ALLSTARS at the BAKED POTATO jazz club in STUDIO CITY, California.
That fact that they are now moving into "arranging" definitely suggests to me they're on the home stretch.

does hellboy even have a realistic possibility to hear some music before the general public? I understand he can get some news from sources, but what are the chances he actually hears tunes?

Hellboy spends a good 85-90% of his time in the loft.

I did at one point but not anymore. It's already November and you'd think if they were going to release anything before Christmas it would've been announced by now.

I'm guessing if there is a Salival 2 type thing it's going to be released late winter/early spring followed by a 10K Days vinyl then the new album next year.

I don't know about that. That Opiate reissue was announced within a month of it's release, if I'm remembering correctly, so it's not unpossible that they'll pop something out between now and Christmas. Not that I necessarily have high hopes of that happening.
