And the PS4 is $549.00 according to EB Games
An extra $150 seems a bit raw. Is that a speculative price? We did only just find out . . .
What? It's $50.00 cheaper
Isn't the PS4 priced at $399, as per the reveal not an hour ago?

Oh you're comparing Australian and American prices, I wasn't surprised, Australia always gets raped, $150.00 extra doesn't seem that bad, plus the Aus dollar is starting to bottom out anyway.

That Mad Max game looks good though, from the makers of Just Cause

Yeah, I'll wait and see I guess - trailers that just show CGI don't really do much for me.

The PS4 will require Playstation Plus membership for multiplayer.
Also Avalanche Studios has officially announced thier Mad Max game.
Which is a whopping $5 a month for a one year subscription in Australia.
Yeah, as long as they keep services like Netflix free, I have no problem with this.

Something to consider if you're an Aussie and are a bit pissed at the price of the PS4 - get an American friend (of which we have plenty here ) to buy you one in the States. Get them to open the box, mark it as "second hand" on the postage so that you don't pay import taxes and voila - US$399, plus postage.
BECAUSE THEY'RE REGION-FREE.

What about warranty concerns though?
Is $150.00 really that much?
Also don't they run on different voltages?

Just a thought. Also wanted a way to say that it's REGION FREE.

Also...I'm not too sure I understand this used game scenario. Isn't it ultimately up to 3rd party game devlopers on how they want to handle this? I think they've been trying to curb this for years now because they don't make any money off of this, the Gamestops of the world do. So even though Sony says they are not going punish gamers for used games, it doesn't necessarily mean that game developers won't, right?

You're right, it is up to the developers, not Microsoft, to make this choice...

So why the hell is everyone up in arms about this? All i've been hearing is Sony is for the gamers and Microsoft is screwing gamers. I thought this was pretty much expected when it came to the new consoles; that game developers wanted to get rid of the used game market.
It really doesn't make too muc difference to me. I like to trade in my games. So once I get my Xbone and won't have the opportunity to trade in games im bored with for new ones kind of sucks...but i'll manage.

It'll also suck for the people who were going to buy your games that you traded in.
There is a large number of people who solely buy second-hand games: Kids on an allowance, mostly, as well as uni students, and people who are just fucking cheap.
Take away that option, and they'll lose a massive number of people likely to buy the console in the first place.
If I was still at uni, this would be a deal-breaker for me.

I'm not sure everyone is really up in arms about this. Â Personally I don't really care, since I've never really traded in games at all, nor do I see myself wanting to do so going forward.
My point is that you stress the developers right to choose how a game should be sold/traded/etc, and then support a system which effectively removes that decision from them. Â That seems like strange logic to me.
It's all about centralising power witg Gamestop and the like, the giant corporate sellers and traders of used games, creating a monopoly. Basically you could either purchase a permit that allows you to use a game you got off someone else or just go to one of the major players to trade and buy your used games and they'll probably pay that fee for you.
See the free market fixed a non existent problem.
And as if EA ain't going to jump all over this used game fee.
