I had a $90 credit on Amazon (thanks Fourtheye Amazon shopers!) that I couldn't find any meaningful way to use, so I decided to drop it on a copy of SimCity 5.  Anyone here planning on purchasing and possibly interested in some multiplayer?

No. But I am curious what SimCity multiplayer is like. Do you just like build cities together? Or do you build like separate cities that compete for like trade agreements or grants or something? I'm not really sure how you run a city.

I'm not 100% sure to be honest, but it sounds more like the second one you suggested.  I don't think you actively take part in building in other cities, but you can trade resources and such.

I think building a city with someone would be more fun but whatever.

So how does that Amazon thing work? You get money anytime one of us buys something?

Yeah, everytime someone purchases something after clicking a link on Fourtheye (of which there are very few!) I get a kickback.  Normally around 3% but it varies.

Does it work for all links or just ones you post?  Like if somebody buys this dildo or this desensitizing anal lube will you get a kickback?

Also this looks like the worst dildo ever.

No, those links (which I've removed as they are NSFW) will credit someone else.

Meh, it's ok.  Map is far too small as has been widely noted around the internet.  6 or 7/10 at best

Nah, I expect that's some kind of DLC you'd have to pay for

I guess they just released an update that nixes cheetah speed.  Cheetah speed is now llama speed.

I didn't think it was possible to have a worse launch than Diablo 3 but somehow EA found a way.

I got burned like this with Twisted Metal.  I'm not buying a game I haven't beta tested at launch again.

EA is giving a free game to SimCity owners.

The good news is that SimCity is a solid hit in all major markets.  The consensus among critics and players is that this is fundamentally a great game.  But this SimCity is made to be played online, and if you can’t get a stable connection, you’re NOT having a good experience. So we’re not going to rest until we’ve fixed the remaining server issues.

And to get us back in your good graces, we’re going to offer you a free PC download game from the EA portfolio.  On March 18, SimCity players who have activated their game will receive an email telling them how to redeem their free game.

Read that yesterday.  I wonder what it'll be.  I can't think of many games EA released recently that I'm too interested in other than Battlefield 3.

I read that it might be any EA game.

A dude in the UK has modded Simcity to allow for offline play.  The only downside is you have to reconnect to the server to save, but otherwise you can play indefinitely offline.

Looks like Battlefield for me then - I own pretty everything else except Bejewelled and Plants vs Zombies, and neither of them are anything I'd play for any length of time.

In somewhat related news, the EA CEO resigned today.
