The latest Puscifer EP Donkey Punch the Night is now streaming in full on the Spin website, and also features an accompanying interview with Maynard:

The song "Dear Brother" is dedicated to several people who passed away, including the Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch. Is that who you were thinking of?
Well, you know the Beastie Boys gentleman, that was a sad day when I got that news. It also pays tribute to our friend Edward Willie, Jr. from Uncle Scratch's Gospel Revival — they're a band who opened up for us, out of Ohio in the area where I was born. And Ray Beckwith was an Australian winemaker, who, in a way, reinvented the wheel in winemaking. He discovered the relationship between pH and acid balance in wines. They really didn't take Australian wine too seriously before him.

What are your fondest memories of MCA?
I actually never met him. I just really enjoyed the music. When their first record came out, I was definitely a fan. To watch them progress and evolve in the way that they did from their first album until their last, it was quite inspirational to watch their personal transformation. It's very unfortunate he didn't make it to the next level.

A relatively short but interesting interview, however don't expect much to be said about Tool or APC.

Also, for those of you considering seeing Puscifer in Australia, note that the Brisbane show has sold out, and the Melbourne and Sydney shows are expected to shortly.

I'm guessing "to the next level" just means the guy died at a relatively young age.

It's a shame.  At level 50 he would've unlocked the ability to decapitate fools.

Was singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" difficult?
Yeah, he's out of my range. Some of those notes, I can't even get to.

SO WHY THE FUCK DID YOU EVEN BOTHER WITH THE SONG AT ALL.

EDIT: Also, why the fuck do both dumbass music interviewers and the 'Nard keep feeling the need to use the word "evolve" in every fucking interview?

Because I'll tell you now, they certainly don't know what the word means . . .
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.

A piss-poor cover of a song that truly does constitute what "real music" is.

What the fuck happened to the youth of today . . .

Shit that's an easy one...

A piece of hardwood, some heavy metal, if you will and I'm sure you will because you're all whores, and some elbow grease.

Such blind, subjective, devotion will ALWAYS surprise me.

I guess I have more faith in people than I should.

Yeah, that Bohemian Rhapsody cover was pretty fucking terrible. I don't understand the point of it-- uninspired bullshit.

Not a big fan of the Bohemian Rhapsody cover, but also not of those who holds it to be absolutely untouchable. I just flat out disliked this take. I still love Dear Brother, and both the remixes of Balls to the Wall. I didn't realize they were covers as well until this interview, and I think a portion of why so many here are upset is that you have heard the original pieces and feel they've been wrecked?

7/10 or so.

At first, the Bohemian Rhapsody cover sounded off to me. The original is amazing, and, initially, this one did not seem to do it justice, but it is sounding better with each listen. It just took some getting used to, just like any other music. Call me a fanboi, but i honestly enjoy it.

I can see why people wouldn't like this version, but if you didn't like the original then you're probably homophobic...

It's just a song that doesn't need to be covered. What song does? Preferably something obscure that we may not have otherwise heard...

No one was there to interview Maynard when he got accepted to West Point or won a cross country medal because 1) No one gives a fuck and 2) Both of those things are gay. Dude needs to get over himself, it appears he still hasn't.

So i guess Tool shouldn't have covered "No Quarter" then? Oh, but they're Tool, so it's okay...
