Blair has released the March 2013 Tool Newsletter today, and rather than being an April Fools Joke, it seems to refer to a fire that happened recently in the Tool Loft:



Rather than posting the newsletter that I had originally planned for March - due to recent circumstances involving the band’s rehearsal space - this morning (fueled by 2 cups of Café du Monde), I hastily penned this somewhat somber substitute. And here’s why: With no one present (save, perhaps, for some tattooed phantoms of prior late night carousing), around midnight on Sunday, March 31, 2013 in the common era (or early Monday morning – April 1 in the same era vulgaris) part of the Tool loft caught on fire.



I'm assuming it's legit, as Blair has already posted his King Buzzo related Toolband joke. Hopefully this only turns out to be a short term setback for writing sessions.

I mean come on, the ONE hard drive that contained the epic song they'd been working and actually talking about? With how anal Adam is?

I'll only believe it if Cheese's dick was also on fire.

Not sure what to make of this. Until there are pictures I'm skeptical, you know, it being 4/1 and all.

I could see them having it on one hard drive. Like if they just recorded it, and didn't have a chance to back it up. But fuck, if it were me I'd back that shit up. Just like when I get a hot piece of porn, that shit gets backed up.

Shouldn't the mere fact that it is April Fools' Day tell us that this is not true. Sure it seems legit, but Blair is a gifted writer. I'm sure he is more than capable of putting together a convincing story about a fire at the loft. The funny thing is that people are actually falling for it. I didn't think that they could actually come with another prank (on the most obvious of days) that could fool their fans once again, but i stand corrected.

That is highly debatable and by debatable, I mean there is not a single TooL fan that would agree with your assessment.  The thought that generally runs through people's heads when attempting to read Blair speak is....

Do you think Blair does that by accident? He is trying to confuse people. It's all part of the "mystery". Why do you think TOOL made him their webmaster?
