Word from nxrm in the forums today was that he received his copy of the Opiate 21st Anniversary reissue. His was ordered via Toolarmy, so I'd expect fellow soldiers to receive theirs in the coming days (or weeks if you are outside of the US). No word on if standard orders were mailed at the same time (I suspect some are still to be sent) - I guess we'll find out soon. Here's a photo he took of the item:

Here's a link to a few more photos of the package.

ZOMG! Can't wait.

Nice to see we get an 'effing useless 4GB flash drive.  Will probably go nicely in my pile of crappy old USB drives that can't hold one BRD file

The music on the new CD is exactly the same as the original. Just finished listening to it a few minutes ago.

Sounds really strange to me if it's completely blank.. I'm sure there'll be more to it than that.

Unless the thumb drives have the powers of Captain Planet when combined then I don't think they will be worth diddly except the I have one and you don't value.

My guess is that one in fifty or so will have something pretty exclusive on it.

Can we get a buyer's remorse thread going later when people realize they spent 150 bucks on cardboard and signatures? And to be fair, if your new arrival gives you a hard on you can publish that too (verbal only preferably).

I received mine today. It's hard to say what they should be worth. The artwork is very impressive. One thing I will add is that the signatures didn't take very well with the type of material they used.

Looks pretty impressive to me. Nice artwork all around. Should be getting mine this week or next.

The best thing about this release is that it made me go back and really listen to Opiate. Fucking amazing EP. Full of energy and that enthusiasm that can only exist very early in a bands lifetime.

The songs contain the DNA of everything Tool. People that actually like the band may want to give it a shot if Opiate has always been so-so in their mind. 21 years out, it sounds better than ever to me.

@kramer

generations prior to yours used to appreciate artwork and applied value to it. I know, its weird when you can just jump online and see artwork all day long, but some artist still exist, and rely on the old ways of recognition of art as a valuable commodity.

Yeah man, I feel that...you mean like in art Museums and stuff when they do exhibits and serve those little crackers and stinky cheese. Artists gota get PAID!!!
