I'm not even excited a little bit. First time I have not been eager to hear a project with MJK. I will probably still give it a listen on Friday.

^ Yeah I'm more curious than excited. I've only listened to two songs so far and am working from home so eager to give it a spin.

Nice. I hope the album gives you that oomph to push through the rest of your work week.

So... 'Get the Lead Out'.
...A pretty obvious swipe at the rest of Tool.

Holy fucking shit, what a fucking album!

I halfarsed listening to the live tracks and songs released thus far as I prefer to sit and listen to an entire album.

This deserves its place as a third proper APC record, it sits perfectly with the other two within evolution of sound yet still sounding like APC.

I enjoyed the second half more than the first, favourite tracks being Delicious, Feathers and Get the lead out.

I have no idea why I wasted my time reading those fucking 'professional' reviews, clearly have never heard APC before.

I've been slowly listening to the album in the car a few songs at a time. Just finished my first play through and i like the first half of the album better. The second half feels a lot more A Puscifer Circle. I defiantly put a few of Pusficer's releases above this one, not to say its terrible. I miss Carina.

Great album!! A few misses there but overall great production. I’ve avoided listening to all pre released stuff, preferred to wait and listen to it whole. MJK is really shining on this album. On to listen number 2. This will keep me happy until, well we all know.... #wearenext or whatever. Feathers is badass.

Hm. Your review is the first thing I see that gives me hope for this album.

Accidental double post. If I don't end up liking any of the songs than what was released beforehand on Spotify I'll still be happy to get the album so I can rip FLAC and also hear better quality than streaming.

Umm... The title... and the lyrics...

Reading between the lines in recent interviews, Maynard's voiced frustrations (indirectly) around Tool's delays, making some subtle suggestion that the rest of the band are responsible, without any good reason. This track pretty much sums up that sentiment.

On a side... My 2 cents on the album...
Once you accept that it isn't ever going to be MDN or 13s, and consider it as a standalone piece... It's hard not to call it a pretty decent album! It'd be nice if there was more energy & less melancholy, but on the whole, i'm enjoying it. Particularly Delicious, Fish, & the studio ver of Hourglass was pleasantly surprising!

Pretty much what I expected. A 7 out of 10. Some interesting musical ideas and vocally Maynard is fairly solid throughout. A few tracks bored me but all in all its definitely not a bad album. The production quality is excellent and there are some good songs but nothing that really blew me away. It isn't the kind of APC that really interests me, but I do give them credit for exploring a number of different directions musically.

The lyrics are hit or miss. At times they worked really well but in some songs I didn't feel like they fit the mood or the tone quite right.

Maynard sounds good on this album and I was surprised how many styles, tones and textures he explored and pulled off. As for Billy, it wouldn't be fair to say his performance was underwhelming considering he wrote just about everything, but I was a bit disappointed that his signature guitar work was so subdued.

Overall a good album, but not one I will listen to often.

On my 3rd listen now , still not sure how I feel about it yet but it sure does sound like the vast majority of the songs would sound fairly amazing in a live setting.

I've been listening to it steadily for a couple plays now... On my first play through o would give it a 6/10... However with the additional listen through it had really grown on me. The album has high and lows, but overall I feel like this is still APC. Final rating is an 8/10. Very good album, will be purchasing it on vinyl later today

K wait...8 out of 10? I think you are being struck by a small bout of fanboyitis. 7/10...okay....8/10...no way. Eat the Elephant (song) blows, Delicious blows, DFA blows, Get the Lead out blows...the rest of the album makes up enough for those clunkers to hit that 7 mark. Plus, you gotta deduct something for By and Down the River, which pretty much sounds almost EXACTLY like By and Down...I am kinda shocked that they had the nerve to even call this a new song when all the did was barely change the tempo in places. It's basically the exact same song, just a tad more subdued maybe, but barely any difference from the original. That's fucking lazy. If you are gonna put an already released song on a new album and give it a different name then take the time to actually rework the damn thing into something noticeably different.

I actually like the vast majority of the album. You think they suck because you are comparing them to past APC songs. You are comparing them to other MJK projects I assume. If you take the album as a standalone collection of tracks, it's actually really good.

Yeah By And Down is the same song.. but that doesn't bother me. It feels like it belongs in this album, in this setting. Not in a greatest hits album tacked on the end, or in a live album.

And to be honest I picked 8/10 simply because I knew you picked 7. And I knew I had to like it more than you did cause you just talk shit... So if you talking shit on the album gives it 7 then I have to give it an 8
