Tool play two shows at the Allphones Arena in Sydney, and this is the first one on the 3rd of May.  According to the Frontier website the times for the show are:

9:10pm | Tool

This show is completely sold out, so hopefully you already have a ticket.  If you don't you can always check the trading thread.  Alternatively the second show still have plenty of tickets left, including GA.

There will be a Sip & Listen wine tasting event prior to the show held at the Quest Hotel Sydney Olympic Park from 4-7.  It's free, and you can sample a range of Maynard's wines, and hopefully be able to order some on the night.

Any discussion relevant to the show may be posted in this thread, including spoilers.  Those wanting to avoid them should leave now…

 

Fly down the morning of this show & this fucker here is a mild cause of concern. Thankfully is starting to pull up north but ya never know for sure what it's gonna do. Isn't massive but a Cat 2 will easily shut down the airport and ruin my day. She should be sweet no doubt, but still an unwelcome distraction. Will feel much better once she crosses over n I know it won't affect our flights..

So excited for this show! I finally get to lose my Tool virginity. Last time they came out I didn't get to see them. Seeing them tomorrow night as well! Hope Maynard gets better though...

I'm going to both Sydney shows (disappointed Sydney missed out on a solo show on the last BDO tour) and I'm hoping for a slight set list variation but don't care either way. 

 

I'd like to have a smoke before one or both shows, it's been a while, if anyone can hook me up PM me.

 

I've lost track of how many shows it's been but these two will push me in to double digits if I wasn't there already.

Have fun! I'd say smoke one night and drink the other, worked well for me in Melbourne for both shows! You will probably figure out why after you've seen them both.

Oh hell yeah! Thats a bad ass opening! did they extend the ending as well? Also what was the poster? And any new shirts!? I'm in the states & anxiously (patient) waiting for a u.s. Tour, albiet not till a new album though good to see a change in setlist especially for 3rd eye!

Pretty bloody stoked I managed to avoid the setlist for the last week. Made it so much better not having a clue what was coming next... Was great to hear pushit again, after a 12 year gap.. Not a big fan of what hes done with the chorus though.. 
 
There were no songs I hadn't heard before & would've been great if the boys bought some rarer songs like the grudge back to the table, but fuck it, they pretty much damn near played aenina in full , so I walked out loving life. 
 
They got a bit lost during 3rd eye but found their way as it went on, Maynards voice was pretty solid, he was just resting parts where he could but didnt take anything away from the performance & Production wise its by far the best , I've ever seen by them! Bring on night 2. 
 
Oh & Maynard dedicated Stinkfist to Joe Hanneman at the end which was a nice touch..
