Opening with the 3rdeye heartbeat & transitioning into Hooker was a nice touch/surprise....

...Well, it's been a fun week. Back to reality. *sigh*

They did the same thing night 1 Melbourne, completely threw me off. Tricky buggers.

Then night 1 Sydney, heartbeat starts, everyone around me starts freaking out, going "OMG Third eye!" and I'm smugly smiling going "Oh, you'll see"...
Think for yourself...

Mother fuckers!

Then of course, back to HWAP night 2. Well played, Tool.

And sigh, know what you mean... Months of planning and looking forward to this run of shows... (and before that, following Puscifer around...) and now that's all done.(In fact, been an epic run of gigs since about November right through to now - This pretty much closes it all out...)

Contemplating work this week with another 2+year wait for more Tool shows. :-/

Hmm, maybe I can still do Auckland...?

Haven't read one single review yet but here are my thoughts on the show . . .

OFF THE FUCKING CHAIN YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW

BEST FUCKING CONCERT I'VE EVER SEEN!!!

ALL THOSE AENIMA ERA SONGS

ALL THOSE VARIATIONS AND SEGUES

MAYNARD IN FULL FUCKING FLIGHT

THAT ELECTRICITY THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CROWD DURING 46 & 2

THAT MOMENT WHERE I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHERE I WAS I WAS SLOW LOST IN PUSHIT

11/10 WOULD BANG

Third Eye sounded pretty awesome from what I heard. I didn't pick up as many vocal effects this time around, whereas they usually go heavy with the vox modulator/doubler on Maynard's mic for this track. I like it.

I thought the same about hooker at the first melb show... effects were certainly in use, but didn't seem as heavy as the US tour vids alluded to

What the fuck happened during Lateralus? Did Maynard scream or was it a mic fuck up?

You didn't hear it seriously?

I haven't listened to the recording but I'm pretty sure it happened around the 'And following our will and wind' and right at the end as well, it was pretty fucking loud.

Or I could be losing my mind.

Nah didn't pick up on anything man, but was on some pretty mean acid & was fairly lost in the moment during that song..

On pushit now, fuck I hate what he's done with the chorus to this song but man it was awesome to hear this in the set again!

Sounds like maynards voice just got drowned out at the "following our will & whim" by Danny's gong which was waaaay to loud.. Didn't even notice it on the night.

Oh yeah, the gong was definitely as loud as I've heard it... Gloriously epic!

Gong was pretty loud in Adelaide as well.  I imagine that's planned!

Absolutely, but this is the 5th tour I've heard Lateralus played, and almost seem to me each tour the gong gets louder, to the point where I barely noticed it on the 2001 pre-tour, but by these shows, holy fuck I could feel the marrow in my bones reverberating...
Glorious.

I love how everyone watches for it also, the anticipation as the song builds and builds, then all around me 20 fists thrust into the air and "air-gong" along... Even through all the escalating and peaking chaos of Lateralaus itself, you can hear everyone go nuts for it
