This thread is for the musicians of Fourtheye to share their work, as well as items of note from around the internet.  Things you might want to share:

Recordings you've made
Musical techniques you use
Photos of your musical equipment and gadets
Rigs of musicians you admire

And anything else relevant you can think of.  Post away!

This is a serious thread and jokes & trolling will not be tolerated.

First thing I'd like to add are some pretty incredible guitar rigs from Vernon & Doug from Living Colour.  Both are favorite musicians of mine, and Vernon's rig in particular blows my mind:

His guitar tech must have to work regular overtime to get that shit running on every show they play!

LOL, I've had Lord of Goats for years now.  I think I told you that sometimes a track comes up on random and it will really freak me out trying to place it at first.  Pretty...... unique sound.  Yeah, that's it.

And we've also discussed Living Colour and Vernon, on the old forum I think.  Those dudes are very cool and accessible, easy to talk to and great personalities.  I've seen Doug and Will doing their own thing several times at the NAMM show over the years too.  Love it all.  That pretty little phaser demo Doug did was from one of those side projects, Jungle Funk, a tune called Torn:

Those effects rigs for both of them are mind blowing - but way too fucking complex.  As a bassist, I have tried many different pedals and effects over the years, but I always gravitate back to basics, just using the tone on the bass and amps to dial in a sound that works for a room and usually stick pretty close to it.  I've never found anything I liked enough to move into that world.  I do have one of the original Pigtronix EP-1 Envelope Phasers, still in the box - Doug uses a bunch of his shit.  I bet it's worth something now, it was a prototype the owner sold me at NAMM I think the first year he went.  Told me to sell it back to him if I ever decided to get rid of it.

And the other project Vernon was talking about is Free Form Funky Freqs, which he does with an amazing bassist, and a buddy of mine, Jamaaladeen Tacuma (used to play with Ornette Coleman among many others, but I love his solo stuff the most).  Doubt Hellboy would dig it, but I bet Busty and others will:

I only have Vivid, and to be honest I find it a bit hit or miss, but if I were to dig deeper what album would you guys recommend checking out next?

Actually, to me Living Colour on record is pretty hit or miss in general.  Every album has some great tracks, but also some clunkers.  They have always been really good live, and Vernon is one of the best improvisational guitarists who straddles the rock and jazz/fusion line.  They are all phenomenal musicians.  Most of their shit is available to listen to on-line and a lot of it is worth hearing.  Check it out.

Here is a video of me playing along with my loop station, just noodling--I would love to work with other musicians, but it is very difficult to find people my age who are interested in creating similar music! I fiddle around sometimes.

And then, this is an example of when I've worked with others--around 2:44 I'm the one playing in 5 over the others in 4. That was my first time recording with each of us in "booths," which was quite fun.

My guitar rig (hah!) is as follows: Ibanez Iceman 400 > Boss RC-2 Loop Station > DigiTech XP-100 Whammy-Wah (Bought it for Reflection and Vicarious, very versatile pedal!) > Line 6 Floor Pod Plus > Marshall MB Series Bass amp

I also own a Talkbox, which was the most utterly useless thing I have ever owned.

Me and my band are playing at Sweden's biggest festival in 24 HOURS. http://www.bravallafestival.se/

If you're confused with me living in aus and sweden at the same time it's because my mom lives in aus and dad lives in sweden. Fucking hell, this could be our breakthrough. Will post our music once we've recorded something, which should be in about 2 months or less.

This thread is a great idea HB.

I don't play much anymore,(guitar)but I can still talk a good game!

I was a garage band/home studio guitarist backinthday, loads of fun.Still have a fair collection of guitars and amps collecting dust and annoying the wife. My primary thing now is the designing, modifying, rebuilding of tube amps.
