Because your semi-retardation from alcoholism has finally taken hold of what little wits you had left?

EDIT: Jesus, that was a bit harsh, wasn't it.

Never ever too harsh and for future reference I'd go with dementia.

Ah yes, that makes much more sense.

Back on topic: Should this be my first real taste of 'VOOL? (Cunt, now you have me doing it.) I'm still hesitant to try, for the aforementioned reasons - and also, I don't remember liking what I heard a long time ago.

New Video for Eidolon and ARIA Award

Hey Vooligans,

We are still recovering from drinking all the beers at the Australian Music Industry night of nights after receiving our first ARIA award for Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal Album. Cheers to everyone that voted for us! Apparently heavy music isn't worthy of telecast, or maybe they didn't like some of the naughty words Drew used in his speech. Was a very strange day but pretty awesome as well - who can complain about meeting Molly!?

Our 2nd single Eidolon from our album Asymmetry was released at the start of November and without further ado we are pleased to deliver the brand new music video for Eidolon to your inbox. It's another epic piece from our mate Chris Frey, featuring a bride and a groom and some supernatural powers. We hope you enjoy!

2014 is nigh and January will be here in no time when our Polymorphism tour will roll into most Australian capital cities and a few regional centres with our good mates Dead Letter Circus and sleepmakeswaves along for the ride (there will be another bite at the cherry so to speak for some of the cities we missed a bit later in the year). If you live in Sydney and your only night off is Friday then you need to know there are only a handful of tickets left for the Roundhouse show on Friday 17 January. We'd also like to make a special mention to Melbournians - tickets for both shows at The Palace are moving fast so if you are planning on joining us get your tickets. You have been warned. All tickets are available here. http://www.karnivool.com/tour

Finally, thanks to everyone who came along to see our shows in Europe. It was nothing short of stellar! Daniel P Carter invited us to record a Radio One Rock session at the famous BBC Maida Vale Studios while we were in London so we'll keep you posted on when it will be broadcast. In the meantime if you haven't already seen it we also did an acoustic set in Helsinki that was on a real icebreaker that for 5 dudes from Perth was pretty mind blowing. Check it out here.

Over and out

Groovin the Moo Side Shows on sale now & European Update

Hello friends of Vool,

Things have been a little quiet since our epic team-up with Dead Letter Circus on the Australian Polymorphism tour in January, but we are about to get busy once more! We'll be doing what we love most, playing shows, lots of shows!

The Groovin the Moo tour kicks off in Australia in a month. We are excited to be hitching a ride to some regional centres on the tour, but news just in is that we've plugged some days off with our own headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Chelsea Heights and Fremantle. Expect a set full of Karnivool highlights and a surprise or two. Sydney 4-piece Born Lion will be along for the ride for all four shows. Check out the dates and details below. Tickets are on sale NOW.
I know Hellboy and Pete would be gutted if they missed a 'Vool show...

Horseshit. I cannot fucking believe I am taking up for Tool but Lateralus shits all over anything Karnivool has ever released. Fuck I have no idea what you Aussies see in this band. Overrated is an understatement. I could get it if it was a guilty pleasure sort of thing but you Kangaroo fuckers actually legitimately think this shit band is something special. They sound like Tool-lite with a touch of Dream Theater and smiggen of Chevelle. Fucking terrible. Laterlaus >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sound Awake. Christ there are a few Chevelle tunes I enjoy but I know they are shit. They are a shit band. I feel dirty for enjoying them. Karnivool is basically a prog version of Chevelle. Horrible. Fucking terrible. My mind is literally blown that you would put Sound Awake ahead of Lateralus. Fucking Lateralus. WOW. I think there is blood coming out of my ears.

Went looking for this thread and this ^ was the last exchange huh?

Well, I am jealous I won't be able to check this out as I would thoroughly enjoy seeing Themata front to back.
THE THEMATA DECADE TOUR

Over ten years ago in studios around Perth we wrote and recorded THEMATA.

So much has happened to us since then, we had no idea of the journey that release would take us upon. We have travelled to most of the world, playing shows from Sydney to Stockholm, Melbourne to Mumbai and most places in between.

We're not ones for looking backwards, but when the idea for this tour came up on a recent tour of India, we just had to do it.

We'll play Themata entirely, start to finish, then we'll play some stuff you may not have - or wish you had - heard before. It's going to be large.

Tickets are on sale now from our tour page. http://www.karnivool.com.au/tour
