I went to a vinyl store today and saw a Tool live at Lollapalooza. So of course I know it's not official but does it sound good? What are the ethics of buying a bootleg vinyl? Curious what you guys think.

It depends on the recording used. I have the bootleg vinyl from the Charlotte 2012 and I love it. It is also the IEM recording, so it is flawless. Most of the ones you find are nothing more than MP3s. I think the Lolla vinyl is a soundboard recording, but don't quote me on that.

Not sure how it goes over on this site but I got to the record store very late in the day and they were down to just a few. Did get "fenixon" which is an album that shooter jennings and his dad Waylon made back in the nineties. It's more industrial like NIN or ministry, some original songs and a few covers, outlaw shit, white room, knocking on heavens door. Definitely odd but sounds better than expected.

I agree it sounds cool, and I like jack white as an artist, but what a conceited prick. Sorry his whole interview came off cocky to me. Oh and they aren't hidden songs if you tell everyone they exist.

Im checking out my Lateralus vinyl, and it looks like there are grooves in the center of the disc (where a normal albums label would be placed) ... there isnt any runout grooves like usual. The inside 2-3 inches of the vinyl looks like there is a song there. But my record player arm wont reach over far enough to test it out. Anyone know whats up with that?
