I'll allow it.

Damn Simon Phillips was superb last night. Shockingly good. And the acoustics in the SF Jazz hall are the best I've heard.

Death Grips doesn't seem to out of place with a NIN Show, and Cameron (oddly out, as you stated) did work with Zach Hill on the Drumgasm stuff, so from a musicians who know each other perspective, it's not too out there.

Two bands well past their prime with an incredibly over-rated "rap" group.

Get your tickets quick, kids!

Matt Cameron is a huge Death Grips fan and he probably had a say in the opening act though, so it's strange that he's not the one who will be drumming with SG for this run of shows.

gotta give Jared respect though, he's a great actor and has a very popular band. I can't think of anyone else in history who actually pulled that off. an Academy Award and I'm going to guess they've gone gold (or even plat) on a few of their LP's. I've only heard one song they've ever recorded and it wasn't too bad.

To be fair, 30 Seconds to Mars aren't that far removed from A Perfect Circle and the guy has god tier genetics, he's in his 40's and looks 25.

I'm not bagging them for the sake of bagging them - I really meant what I said.
I enjoyed their debut album very much but aside from 'The Kill', everything released since then has been terrible.
He got the crowd going and has charisma but it never felt like a concert - he would get political, talk shit about fat guys in glasses sitting and not moving, how he loves this country, brings kids on the stage, etc. There would be so many pauses and acoustic renditions of songs that it almost felt like the 'Jared Leto Standup Tour'. It was weird..
The music was mostly all new material - I could not get into it at all. The music was just generic middle of the range synth rock- it's all WO WO WO WO WO U O OH OH.

On the plus side, he has had a very successful year.

I get that completely, when SOAD toured in 2001 I think, I saw them and Serj was all about the political rant, it was bullshit, when he asked the crowd to repeat after him I baaaa like a sheep (embarrassing now thinking about it) but a few guys around me followed suit, even at 19 I knew it was bullshit.)

But I saw Cog for the first time ever and they blew everyone else off the stage, SOAD was terrible. Amen were great as well, their shirt I purchased got a lot of hate at the BDO that year 'Terrorist Action Squad' in huge read letters, a few guys fist bumped me, I was fucking 19.

Hey Tyson, speaking of Cog, the Occupants are recording the next two songs. They should be released sometime in April. They have a few vids of them recording. The piano is very nice..

I was a bit disappointed with 'Wonderwall.'

Since 10,000 days, Cog has released: a full length album, broke up, went on to do side projects, recorded 2 songs for their upcoming album and are recording 2 more at the moment. Oh man..

Yep, Doors is the ultimate Cog song. It still blows my mind. Hence the name.

[BBvideo 560,340][/BBvideo]

Then it would have to be 'No Other Way.'
