Heading out to my first of two King Crimson Elements shows tonight. Can't wait. So nobody else here caught one? These are two of the last 3 shows on the tour - Ends in Seattle next week.

I'm thinking of checking these guys out next Saturday along with Deicide and Septicflesh.

Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc
Sure.
Here's a set list, a few pics and even the band's schedule (sound guy offered it because he didn't have a set list).
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part One
Red
VROOOM
Coda: Marine 475
A Scarcity of Miracles
(Jakszyk, Fripp and Collins cover)
Pictures of a City
Hell Bells
The ConstruKction of Light (first half only without vocals)
Level Five
The Talking Drum
Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part Two
The Letters
Sailor's Tale
One More Red Nightmare
Starless
Encore:
Hell Hounds of Krim (3 man drum solo, with Gavin featured)
21st Century Schizoid Man
Fripp - Wow. He turned 68 this year, and is playing better than ever. Complete mastery of the guitar and effects. Said not a word, just looked out at us and let the guitar do the talking.
Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin & Pat Mastelotto - Three very unique styles and personalities, blended perfectly into a unit that delivered an extremely satisfying drumming workshop. The way they shared the stage, listened and reacted to each other, and above all supported the songs, was unbelievable. Gavin remains one of my favorite drummers still alive, but I have enormous respect for all of them.
Tony Levin - Solid as fuck - no surprises there. His bass lines are so integral and interesting. He moved between a couple of electric basses, upright bass and of course the Stick.
Mel Collins - Flutes and Saxes (including Bari my fave).
Jakko Jakszyk - Excellent guitar work, perfectly complementing/contrasting/supporting Fripp at any given moment. Also, his vocals were outstanding, particularly during Starless. Shivers.
They were just so tight and all having a fantastic time. Great, great show. So glad I decided to hit up both SF shows. Going tonight with 3 long time Crim fans who are all extremely stoked. We're sitting in the balcony tonight, 3rd row near the center. Last night I think I literally had the best seat in the house 8th row dead center, band level), but it will be cool to have another perspective.
On reflection, although I loved the set list and I'm glad they went with the lineup they did... I couldn't help but miss Belew. I very much doubt it will happen, but another tour that included him along with material from Discipline/Beat/ToaPP would be very well received.
AK-Rev was also there last night and hopefully I'll hook up with him tonight as we're sitting fairly close. Anybody else making this one (or Saturday)?
From the web:
Note the killer art on Jakko's guitar:
And one of Tony's basses featured the yellow Three of a Perfect Pair artwork - you can sort of make it out in my pic of the band. Very cool.
Hell Hounds of Krim:
One very cool thing I found on Tony's site from the LA gigs:

I assume he's doing that at all the shows, and I love it. I'll be listening for it tonight. After soundcheck, Robert spends some time onstage, composing a piece that will play as the audience enters

Re: Live Shows, Tours, etc
If Crowbar ever tours Crowbar they should totally play at the Crowbar. They probably will too since that seems to be where every band plays when they tour Australia.

I think the Crowbar is about the only venue in Brisbane that hosts club sized acts these days.
