Awesome - hopefully they do some touring. Never got to see them back in the day, and keen to do so now.Busty McCracken wrote:Just got back from Melbourne for Mammal show. They've lost nothing as a live act and talked up more shows and new tunes. Hopefully they can keep the peace coz for first show in 7 years it was like they never stopped. Absolutely killer set

I'm insanely surprised you never caught em back in the day. They didnt get over to Adelaide much or you just weren't really into them?
I only saw them once back on their first ever live shows when they were supporting Cog and fell in love with them instantly but never did get to see them again so was insanely happy to be able to make their reunion show.

From memory Mammal most played while I was living in the country, so never really got the opportunity to see them live. The only time I remember them playing in Adelaide was at the Big Day Out, and I didn't make it that year for some reason.

Given that cog are playing Byron the night prior i wish i had the funds to get down for this but gotta behave and give it a miss. Especially with a potential APC & Metallica visits in 2018. Wouldnt be surprised to see tool return in next 12 months or so either. Then theres download festival too.

I'll be surprised if Tool tour Oz anytime in 2018. 2019 seems like a decent bet though.Busty McCracken wrote:Given that cog are playing Byron the night prior i wish i had the funds to get down for this but gotta behave and give it a miss. Yeah fair call 2019 seems a better bet given apc album coming up but they are getting to that point where they'd normally return soon. Has generally stretched between 2-5 years between visits.

So the local Download Festival lineup got announced. The headliners are laughably bad, and the price ($170 + BF) stupid, but there are some decent acts a bit further down the bill:

I didn't realize Good Charlotte were still around, nonetheless capable of headlining a festival.

Those two Victorian venues I've never heard of before.
The Adelaide show is in the new HQ complex, so will be interesting to see how that compares to the old one (which was great).

The Misfits tried this at a recent reunion show. It didn't work.
