Finally had some time to check out some new music today. Starting with the most recent and I'll work my way back.

Somebody else recommended these guys to me a while ago. Realized I never checked them out. I like it. I'll seek out some more when I get a chance. THIRDED.

EDIT: <==== If These Trees Could Talk — Above the Earth, Below the Sky [FULL ALBUM]

That's good shit. About halfway through and it's very solid. I want to hear the vocals on the new stuff so I'll go find that eventually. That's the kiss of death for so many promising bands. SECONDED

Some nice parts there Norm. I am not so much digging the guitar sound and sometimes the noodling, but love the bass. ON THE FENCE

FE member "cesaro" turned me on to The Trees last year. They've been in regular rotation since. Both "Above the Earth, Below the Sky" and "Red Forest" are great. They're actually putting something new together at the moment. From their Twitter account:

I know what you mean, but then I found the songs haunting me at the most unexpected times...then they really started to hit home.

Definitely looking forward to hearing the rest of their new album...as well as...Minnow's upcoming album "Trembles & Temperance."

They've only released one song from the album so far, "Coyote (Goodnight)", but I'm digging it:

Their self-titled EP is worth a listen too: http://minnowmusic.bandcamp.com/

that's a pretty solid tune .... reminds me of a post-rock-y, tv on the radio variant

I've been meaning to throw it up as an album of the week but I never got around to it.

Re: Locrian

Quite relaxing. Soporific drone...although that far-off/subdued screaming from time to time kept me alert. The first one caught me off guard and was a bit unsettling. :)

so after careful deliberation and repeated listens to all of the records in this thread that I'd not listened to, slacked on for months or didn't already have in my collection, I've finally just said 'fuck it' and made a bulk purchase:

Keelhaul
Nadja
Minnow
Locrian
Mr. Peter Hayden
Yoma
Ormen Lange

Thanx for all the suggestions ... happy listening

Really glad to hear you liked "Minnow". I'm planning on seeing them tonight for the first time. Really looking forward to the show.

They've just released another song ("Indian Summer") off their upcoming album. It's a bit more raw than "Coyote (Goodnight)", but I still dig it:

If anyone is interested, I made a bandcamp page for a shoegaze(ish) album that I recorded a few months ago, using a distorted acoutsic/electric ukeulele (and some acoustic/eletric guitar on a few songs). Check it out if anyone is interested in shoegaze/psychedlic/indie rock kinda stuff (at the very least it is free and you can delete it)

On an unrelated note, if you want some other people's shoegaze/fuzz rock, check out Pity Sex, they're from Michigan and kinda cool - seen them live a few times when I go up to Michigan to visit people etc http://pitysex.bandcamp.com you can get their debut LP on Spotify (feast of love)

Listening now, three tracks in. I'm enjoying it, some lovely melody.

Nice! Thanks for sharing. I liked the last 2 tracks most. Good uke work throughout.

Jenn Ghetto aka "S"

"im not as good at it as you": http://jennghetto.bandcamp.com/

Seemingly simple, yet haunting at times...with notes of Elliott Smith.

She has a new album out as well ("Cool Choices") which you can still listen to via Soundclound from the Stereogum review: http://www.stereogum.com/1704930/stream ... um-stream/

I actually prefer the earlier album ("im not as good at it as you") though.

Weird that I listed to them yesterday and today on the college station they played them and had one of the band members do a station ID spot.

Huh, that's weird. Really cool though; they sound like they've got a really good album coming sometime in the near future.

Listened to some of it, and it's pretty good.

@pmp - Nadja "Bliss Torn From Emptiness"

That was quite a sonic journey. Thanks for that.
