I preferred the LA Times 20 Worst Hipster Bands.   Talk about hitting the nail on the head.

@Und (quote doesn't work on my phone)

Baroness- Blue Record

Opeth- Blackwater Park

At the Gates- Slaughter of the Soul

Sleep- Sleep's Holy Mountain

I probably heard the next two somewhere in my youth but I am not certain:

Iron Maiden- Piece of Mind

Megadeth- Rust in Peace

I heard the first 3 songs on that Opeth album today and I gotta say, damn good start.

Seriously? You don't like The Black Keys, TV On The Radio,  MGMT or Arcade Fire. I haven't heard of many of those other artists, but these four make some pretty good music.

TV On The Radio are ok.  The other three are pretty bland.

Does disliking popular hipster bands make you a hipster hipster?

Possibly, though I never really think of them as hipster bands.  Just bands I don't like.

I've seen a couple of these of these kinds of Worst Hipster band or album kind of lists and they always come off like they're tempting to out-hipster everybody.  It always seem like these bands/albums/whatever make these lists because they're popular, not because they're actually the worst.

Sounds like the Aussie tour for 90s rockers Extreme has been postponed.  The lord giveth and the lord taketh away.

^Ha

I could've sworn Extreme was an 80's band.

You could be right.  I seem to remember hearing them for the first time in the 90s though.

I'm sure Hellboy will make a post about this so I won't bother, but it was just announced that MtVoid's album will go on sale tomorrow on toolband. Doesn't say if it'll be released elsewhere as well.

I am open to a Zep tour in 2014. Capricorns, hmmm...I never knew that's why JPJ and JP have been silent all this time..

-----------------------

Outside Lands ponied up more cash to the City of SF allowing them to sell more tickets (stuff more people in Golden Gate Park) for the 2013 edition: Aug 9-11th.
I wonder what 'bigger' acts they're lookin' to garner
