I am pretty disappointed with how this has panned out. Given the format change I thought they would have two really awesome acts on both nights to encourage people to come for the 2 days.... For me day 2 (Brisbane) looks cool, I haven't seen Faith no more previously so I am stoked. Plus (leg of) Lamb of God and Antemasque (I am a big fan of The Mars Volta).... but overall I am pissed that the line up wasn't much better, but that's how things are I suppose.... I am more pissed about the non-sideshow article for Faith no More etc... That sucks ass....

I just had a bit of a mean spirited giggle at the facebook poster commenting on FNM's greetings to Aus, "perth no more  ",. before you lament the lack of side shows spare a thought.

In other words, AJ dumped a shitload of money on those bands to not do "sideshows".

Wow, could totally not see this coming.

It doesn't work that way.

He paid them a specific amount, they can be contractually obligated to play sideshows and make more money for him, he just wants to make sure people go to soundwave.

Yeah, we didn't see that coming either...

As much as I generally enjoy the buffet, I always like the prospect of the real dish.... Seeing FNM at the Entertainment Center would be so cool.... It is a shame...

It's bullshit, oh well, I'll see them on their headline tour after they drop their new album 8-)

I hope this happens. Faith No More have generally treated Australians well in regards to tours.

Not sure how sarcastic your post it. Tool do an excellent job of keeping Aussie fans happy (aside from releasing albums regularly).

I was just talking to someone about Bayside! Well actually it's more accurate to say they were talking to me about Bayside.

Apparently they play in drop B. I guess that's pretty low for a punk band or whatever they are.

King Parrot, Exodus and Steel Panther are good editions. The Vandals would be good as well, except I expect it'd be without Josh Freese. I'd even check out Smashing Pumpkins should the timetable allow.

It'll be interesting to see which days the newer additions appear on. I'm not sure there's much there to get me at Day 2 at this point in time.

Pretty happy with the line-up over both days! I was initially planning on only going to Melb day 1, but depending on how these bands are allocated along with the last update, might get a weekend pass.

Do we know when the playing days are updated? I thought I remember reading somewhere we would know before Xmas...?

KING PARROT!

That was what was said, however I'm not so sure right now. I imagine Smashing Pumpkins are 2nd headliner to Slipknot. I expect Steel Panther would be day 2 as well. Killer Be Killed has the same drummer as Antemasque, so I presume they are on Day 1.

I'll definitely be at Day 1, Day 2 still to be determined.

The festival that keeps on giving! Both days for me were always happening but certainly it is shaping up to be much more compelling than I first thought. I saw an absolutely killer set from SP a few years ago. I hope they can repeat it.

Well, based on this announcement I'll be going to both days at Soundwave:
Joining the FAITH NO MORE / SOUNDGARDEN headlined day are
STEEL PANTHER
FALLING IN REVERSE
DRAGONFORCE
ONE OK ROCK
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA
LOWER THAN ATLANTIS
BAYSIDE
HE IS LEGEND
KING PARROT
RIVAL SONS
SLEEPWAVE
RAGLANS
Catch these new additions
Adelaide: Saturday February 21
Melbourne: Sunday February 22
Sydney: Saturday February 28
Brisbane: Sunday March 1
Joining the SLIPKNOT headlined day are new headline act
THE SMASHING PUMPKINS
along with
MILLENCOLIN
KILLER BE KILLED
EXODUS
THE VANDALS
THE WONDER YEARS
TWIN ATLANTIC
ANIMALS AS LEADERS
FUCKED UP
EVERGREEN TERRACE
NONPOINT
LE BUTCHERETTES
I guess Dave Elitch musn't be drumming for both Antemasque (Day 1) and Killer Be Killed (Day 2), as I can't see how this would work if he was.

Yay!! Just found out that "...due to other on going commitments, all public transport to the Soundwave Festival, from the 21st to the 22nd of February is cancelled. Car parking ONLY available to those who are carpooling with four or more people - prebooked in advance".

Great. 50,000 people attending a rock concert in Melbourne and they decide to cancel all public transport. No official reason given.

Yay for Victorian Labor!!!!
