Boards of Canada are two Scottish Brothers who make unique electronica. Using analog synths and warped samples, their music combines occult and nostalgic influences to create something both creepy and familiar, ambient and groovy. I figured this would be a good pick since they just released a new album, though if the majority has already heard it I'm happy to pick something else.

Good timing dude.  And while I have heard of these guys, I haven't given them a decent shot yet, so here goes.

No, you made your fucking choice, so stick with it.

I've yet to be impressed by this group, but I'm more than willing to give them several chances, as my bros pete and blender seem to love them.

I thank you for your choice, and look forward to giving you my comments and opinions.

Don't get your hopes up. They're the NIRVANA of this style of choons.

(See what I did there? Yeah.)

I like, not love, but I like Nirvana a lot so I'm ok with that.

One does not simply "like" NIRVANA.

Have ye heard "Aero Zeppelin"?

Indeed. One of their more bad ass songs. Hearing it in your honor right now.

I may be slightly drunk.

I'll take a listen at this stage, though this genre of music generally does very little for me.

Sorry if I pulled the rug out from under you, Pete. I look forward to your next pick.

Relax. They were good. But not THAT good.

But yes Aero Zeppelin is indeed a worthy tune.

Is that because it doesn't sound anything like Grinspoon or Regurgitator???

Hey!  Are you disparaging Hellboy's taste in music?  Because if so.... carry on.

I'd say this was so-so. Not the best but certainly not horrible.

Mainly because they don't sound enough like Burzum

Not bad at all. Is definitely something I have to be in the mood to listen too & consider it more backround type music than anything, but can see myself playing this one a few more times.

6.5/10

Again, this is not my typical go-to genre, but it kept my interest more than I thought it would.  I'll check out some of their other stuff now and see if it sticks.  Good pick.
