Using a Random Number Generator, I put in the numbers 1 through to 6. I got the following:

4 5 1 6 3 2

. . . which means:

March 10th: basejumper and Kittaan
March 17th: Tyson and The Boss
March 24th: Ravenpig and Hellboy

Albums are to be posted pretty much whenever you want on or after those dates. A poll to decide which album was truly the AOTW will be conducted that weekend, either by me or someone who is relatively sober. So it would probably be a good idea to post your album as quickly as possible.

Format for the albums will be the usual, e.g. "AOTW - Titus Andronicus: The Monitor". A YouTube link to the album is obviously preferred, but anything else is fine, as long as it's reasonably accessible.

Not much in the way of changing of rules or anything. Try to pick something fairly unique. Six albums of KYUSS-like stoner is awesome, I guess, but we're trying to reach a little higher here. ALL genres are welcome.

If you're going to pick something very well known, or even an artist that is both popular and critically celebrated, you're probably going to have a bad time.

If we manage to get fourteen more participants, I'm happy providing a prize of up to about AU$30 in value. Probably music related.

Hey Tyson, what genre are you likely to go with next week?

There's no reason why people can't have the same genre, but I personally would like to mix it up a bit.

I was thinking either something New Age hippy shit or extreme metal.

Both albums have been posted, so that means we all have until early Saturday 15th to listen to them and prepare our votes.

OK, great ideas again.

How about we open up polls on the Wednesday or Thursday (depending on when AOTW were posted), and kept open until the end of the weekend?

That way, no one feels rushed to form an opinion too quickly, and we give the choices room to breathe.

And yeah, I can't imagine why we would need more than the two choices. I'm open to the idea of "I Obstain/They Both Sucked" if there's a good reason for it.

I think if you add something like that then you are running the risk of having no winner which kind of defeats the purpose of a head-to-head competition.

True, however you consciously abstaining you are at least actively taking part in the polling. If nothing else it gives an indication of how many are taking part.

Good point. I could pick a winner if needed to, but I guess what I'm hinting at was a method to hint at how apathetic I was to both selections this week.

I like plenty of genres outside of metal and grindcore. Jazz Fusion and folky acoustic shit just don't do anything for me.
