El Laberinto del Fauno only at 96?
And yes, Pulp Fiction is overrated.

Pulp Fiction?

Puh lease
I've seen every one of those flicks except for Schindler's List.

I wouldn't have ranked them anywhere near that order, but they were all at least decent. I enjoyed Pulp Fiction, and for its time, it was pretty impressive. Not #5 impressive, but it deserves a spot.

That was a fucking tight list. Obviously I don't particularly dig half of those movies, but I respect their place in movie history.

But yeah, Number Five was a glaring error. "PULP FICTION" might well be Tarantino's worst movie, and that's saying A LOT.

Because he's a hack.

That's cool. I can see why people dig it.

But to me, it's like saying which pile of vomit is more inspiring.

Anything he does with other people is usually pretty right-on. It's as though his acute eye for directorial detail coupled with real creativity produces some quite good work.

Was that the car one? (He says, hoping no one spits on him).

That double was wicked-sick. Yet again, I'll always have Rodriguez's (sp) back. Everything that I've seen of his has been FUCKING AWESOME. As in, the kind of movies you'd want Bay to direct if he had a large fucking cock and massive testes.

Urgh, Death Proof. Kurt was great in that movie. All the blabbering was crap, really really crap. The car crash was pretty cool filmed, the chase in the end less so.

But I really liked Planet Terror.

Tarantino fans call that "dialogue". Apparently it's witty and deep - but all it really does is the following:

Dude: "Hi! I'm going to talk to you in subtext, in front of other people who know that I'm speaking in subtext. Eventually, that subtext will negatively indicate fucking death for them. Wanna join in?

Fuckwit: "Sure! I'm the less interesting/less attractive/female counterpart to you, so let's go nuts!"

Dude: "OK! Wanna eat a burger?"

Fuckwit: "Absolutely!"

DUDE and FUCKWIT kill everyone in . . . fuck, do you want this to be in a bar, or a diner? A bar? Really? Is that not cliched? Asking that of a Tarantino movie is "cliched" in itself, right? Oh man. But then again, you could just argue that this is just him echoing a bolder time of cinema, right?

In a bar?

Fine.

DUDE and FUCKWIT kill everyone. There's a dance, an ironic 1970s semi-hit in the background, and half-eaten burgers in bloody hands.

You, the audience, literally orgasm from the bloodshed and the irony that you JUST DON'T GET.

You'll go home happy, and people who don't deserve your money sleep like fucking babies.

THE END.
O love will you read the letters I will send to you.

That was one of the funniest and best things I've ever said, and no one commented.

In news that makes me squeal like a branded piglet, Bryan Fuller (creator of Dead Like Me, Pushing Daisies, and my favorite TV show currently on air Hannibal) is developing Neil Gaiman's American Gods for Starz.

Hopefully this actually happens.

Something to do with turning that book into a series has been in talks for a while.

I'm a huge fan of Gaiman, so I'll just go sit nervously in the corner until this comes out . . .

That book just stays with you. An exciting project for sure but it will have to be something to pack the punch of that piece of writing.
