I've been there, it's like an industrial lot more than a studio.

So I had mentioned on one of the TOOL forums reading about DUNE and Litanie contre la Peur being an influence on Alex Grey and having some connection to Fear Inoculum. Not knowing anything about DUNE, possibly because The movie came out the year I was born and I really didn't get into Sci-Fi until much later in life. This fucking movie changed me! What the fuck man "Fear is the Mind Killer" What a beautiful Quote. A slight Maynard lyric "will alone" From Brad Dourif whom plays Piter De Vries while taking I assume the "spice" from a dropper. AND the Fucking SOAD Hand from their self-titled Album Regular and Red. What a Great Movie and I'm sure the novels are even better. Oh ya almost forgot while they are "folding space" there seams to be some influence as far as the "portal" in Recusant Ad Infinitum.

A remake is in the works at the moment by Denis Villenueve. 2020 release

Rebecca Ferguson, Timothee Chalamet and Josh Brolin. Filming in Jordan and studio in Hungary

Frank Herbert is one of my faves, but the Dune series is a dense read. Well worth it, but diminishing returns as the novels progress in my opinion. Incredible scope and character building, but so many balls in the air.

At some point in your exploration, I highly recommend checking out this amazing doc on an aborted attempt at a movie very different than Lynch provided:

Mate it's been on my radar for years after hearing this show being help up to a similar standard. Ask me in 5 years and hopefully I've done it. Man I have such a hard time committing to tv shows

Dune novels are great! The ones by Frank Herbert that is. The Brian Herbert + Kevin Anderson ones are mediocre to crap.

I now own “Dune” and will start reading soon as I feel this weird obsession forming. One more “thing” I just noticed watching the film again is the Font used for the opening credits has this gold line to create it and it seams to be that Gold line used on the new TOOL logo. Or is that the spice talking?!

Looks pretty good. Keen for something that resembles the book a little more than the more recent remake.
