I've been watching The Punisher on Netflix lately, which I'm finding a little uninspired. Will probably move onto Altered Carbon when that is done.

Took a few episodes for Punisher to get going I think. I enjoyed it but it is definitely no Altered Carbon. Altered Carbon was fantastic.

The Punisher was shit as a take on The Punisher, if it wasn't associated with the comic book character it's an ok story.

All I know about the Punisher is from the Marvel Netflix shows, so have no other point of reference from which to judge it.

Saw Avengers yesterday, it was really cool and really fun. I’m glad it kept “that” part of it from the comic story.

Action was very cool. Story was good. Thanos was interesting.

Having said all that if you aren’t already a fan of these movies this one isn’t going to change your mind.

The only 3 comic movies that I’d recommend to people who don’t like these remains Winter Soldier, Deadpool, and Logan.

8/10

I've been thinking about what the plot for the next Avengers movie might be and I think I figured it out:

I fucking love Billions, great TV show with references only cool guys like me would get, last episode featured quips about a Lisa Ann fleshlight and Rush.

I just watched Absentia which was written/directed by Mike Flanagan, making it the fourth movie of his I've seen and they've been consistently good which is remarkable for someone who's makes horror movies.

Who wouldn't like to home to an entire penthouse apartment filled with beautiful women who want me for my money! Which doesn't bother me in the least... Although i agree with Taylor on this one Hemispheres then Farewell to Kings and then 2112 then Tom Sawyer.

I watched Mother, Bong Joon-ho's follow up to The Host (before Snowpiercer) and it's probably my favorite of his movies.

It's on Netflix and I'd highly recommend it.

Deadpool 2

It was funny and a lot of fun. Reynolds was born for this role.

I wanna see it again.

Yeah, I've been considering starting it, but I've been kind of turned off about a lot of the shit that's been coming out recently.

I have watched the first 5 episodes. Way way way better than season 4 (I get that some would say that doesn’t mean much).

There’s been some just as funny as ever moments and I’ve enjoyed every episode so far.

Having said that, I can’t give a rating yet cause I’m not done.

Rest in peace The Americans, I loved the finale while others found it wanting.

Rewatched The Matrix tonight after well over a decade, fuck me it's still the film I remember, slightly aged but still an absolute classic.

Shame the never made any sequels.

Whoa.

Unpopular opinion I know, but I actually like the Matrix sequels, though they're not better than the original.

Something that I thought was interesting about The Matrix sequels that I've never seen anyone talk about is the fact that all the bad guys in that movie are white (except for maybe some henchmen here or there) and the good guys are mostly black or Asian, or just generally not white, like even Keanu Reeves is half-Japanese. That's pretty remarkable for a major Hollywood movie.
